The pump should only run if you are using water. If you have a leak it will cycle on and off. If it only cycling fast when you're using water, you may need an expansion tank, sometimes referred to as a bladder tank for newer style. If you have a "bladder" tank , the bladder may be leaking and lost it's air charge. This bladder will have an initial air charge, and when the pump runs it will compress the bladder even further. When the pump shuts off the bladder is compressed. When you begin to use water, mainly low flow like one faucet, the bladder will begin to expand expelling the water from the tank until the pressure drops below that of the pump pressure switch. This makes the pump start and stop fewer times.

I have had 3 flotec's in 10 years. 1/2 and 3/4 hp. used as a booster at the house from the well. They all work for a while but eventually just start cycling constantly. Terrible, finicky pumps. I changed bladder tanks. really not the problem. Constantly adjust the pressure switch etc. I still have them all and the pump still works...just dont work properly in service! JUNK

How to bleed brakes?

If YOU DON'T HAVE AN AUTOMATIC BLEEDER GET SOMEONE TO HELP YOU. MAKE SURE THERE IS FLUID IN THE RESOVOIR. HAVE YOUR HELPER 'PUMP' THE BRAKE PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES THEN HOLD THE PEDAL DOWN. STARTING FROM THE FURTHEST WHEEL AWAY FROM THE RESEVOIR OPEN THE BLEED SCREW SLIGHTLY TO LET OUT ALL AIR. CLOSE THE BLEED SCREW AND PUMP UP THE LINE AGAIN HOLDING THE PEDAL DOWN OPEN THE BLEED SCREW AGAIN UNTIL PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR. CLOSE THE BLEED SCREW AND REPEAT UNTIL NO AIR COMES OUT. MOVE TO NEXT WHEEL AND REPEAT. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE RESEVOIR FULL.

Live in florida - pool pump goes off for a half hour and then turns back on and then operates normally for a while. it then repeats the same eequence. is this due to overheating

it does sound like overheating. runs for a while, trips the high limit, then cools and restarts. this could be a supply power problem, under sized wiring, or loose or damaged terminals associated with the wiring.

Clutch pedal goes strait to the floor??clutch won't bleed up??

It has air bubbles on the piping, fill the deposit with brake solution, and push and pull the clutch pedal with your hand it doesn't matter if it goes straight to the floor if that happens pull it with your hand, repeat that as if you are bleeding it up, then disconnect the piping beneath the car, the air bubbles will be forced out, then reconnect the piping and repeat the procedure, push and pull the clutch pedal like a 100 times, then disconnect the piping and reconnect. The clutch pedal should be able to go back when there is no air on the piping. If that doesn't work, replace your clutch pump

Intermatic c8866 1 hr cycle timer- wiring- I have 2 hot legs & neutral. Neutral goes to the clock, one hot leg goes to switch common, what does 2nd hot go to- normally open or normally closed? this is...

You have C8866 repeat cycle pump, that repeats the same program each hour.

Your well pump is 240Volt which is why you have two Hot wires.

One Hot wire connects to COM terminal.
Your Neutral wire connects to Clock terminal.
This will power the clock motor.

One hot wire to Load connects to NO normally open terminal.
This terminal turns ON when timer turns ON.
NC terminal is ON at all times, EXCEPT when timer turns ON, and then NC terminal turns OFF

Your second Hot wire runs directly to pump and does not connect to timer.

Brake pedal goes to floor on first depression; then pumps up fine

Try this, apply the emergency before stepping on the brake.
If this helps the pedal, the rear brakes are out of adjustment.

How to bleed rear brakes on a 1997 honda Prelude

the best rule of thumb is to work from the closest bleeder to the master cylinder, it does take two people!!!!!!! one to pump the brakes and one to open and close the bleeder.

1. fill the resivor
2. pump the pedal all the way down and up, tell the pumper to hold down.
3. crack open the L-F bleeder untill the pedal goes all the way to the floor.
4. repeat untill you get brake fluid with no air bubbles.
5. you MUST do all wheels no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6. please do it in this order left froont, right front, left rear, and then right rear.
7. just pump and hold, open bleeder, close bleeder, and repeat for each wheel.
8. make sure to keep filling the fill point on the master cylinder.

I have a water pump short cylicng problem... I changed the water pump a couple of months ago and everything was fine . It is at my cottage and I go there once a week. Last week, I noticed the pressure...

Pump the air chamber up to 40# and check for air leaks. The system needs the air to provide buffer and hold pressure against the water in your tank when the pump is not pumping.

Compressor comes on for 2seconds an then off for 8 seconds keep repeating .will not stay on long enough to cool.

When the A/C pump pressure drops, unfortunately because of lose of freon charge, then the pump will be turned off. When the pressure rises, the sensor tells A/C pump to turn back on, so it goes back and forth. When there is no residual pressure left, the system will not even try to turn on.

Baby gaggia wont pump

The pump may only have lost its prime. To prime the pump:

Fill an ear syringe (available at most pharmacies) with water. Insert the business end of the syringe securely in the tube that normally takes up water from the reservoir. As you squeeze the syringe bulb, flip the brew switch on. If you see movement of water in the tube, and hear a change in the sound the pump is making, flip the brew switch off, remove the syringe, and put the tube back in the filled reservoir. Now flip the brew switch on, and see if the pump can draw water on its own. Repeat several times if necessary. If the pump still won't pull water, then it must be replaced.
