  • Hi, from my experience, when a Computer shut-down, as the way you discribed; the main area of concern is the "Fan." The Computer is overheating; to make sure that there is not any permanent damage done to the "Computer Components, the computer will "Shut-Down." Now back to the Fan, more than likely the "Fan"just need to be cleaned. If you can get access to the Fan area to apply a "Air Blower" to clean out the "Dust," the computer should work fine. If by some reason this is not the case. There may have been a change in the "Configuration of the OS." The safest thing to do is a "System Restore," setting the Computer back to a [Time] when it was working properly. The {System Restore} can be perform by going to the "Control Panel," open the program; and follow all the instructions carefully!" Be very patient, it can take awhile. Do not use,or touch any "keys" once the System Restore started, even after the Computer restart" its still running! Wait until the message appear; that the [system restore is complete]." "Let me know how tyhings work out, by giving a "helpful rating, and thanks for using Fix'Ya"

Laptop keeps shutting down

There are a few reasons, bad power supply adapter, cooling fan is not working or there is dirt blocking the ports causing it to shut down, battery issues, "remove to verify" the DC jack in the laptop has become intermittent and must be dismantled down to the motherboard level and flipped over for solder touch up.

Why is my acer aspire 4330 keep shutting down on me for no apparent reason?

If the laptop shuts down after a period and won't boot up again until the laptop has cooled down, then the laptop has a thermal overload problem.

Laptop keeps shutting down for no reason leaving blank screen

If your laptop cuts the power off (shuts down) from time to time that may be overheating problem. Dust is blocking the air outlets on the fan and processor cannot be cooled down properly. Thermal protection shuts your laptop down when it reaches some certain temperature. Most likely you will hear your fan spinning full speed before the shut down and the bottom of the laptop is hot.
Best solution is to take it apart, remove the fan and the heatsink, clean them thoroughly, apply new thermal compound and assemble the laptop. Easy solution (though not the best one)is to buy compressed air can and blow it through the vents of the laptop. It will help for some time but occasionally it will start again.
