Hi just read your posting.Have you removed the front panel to the machine. This will give you better access to the tank and make it easier to put the retainer on to the bowl end.By the way have you got the wire retainer with a spring at the end which you join by putting the hook throe the eye or just a big large spring type. Please reply with additional information on the questions and I will guide you throe the steps to refit the door boot.

I'VE REMOVED THE FRONT PANEL at the beginning.

    I have the wire retainer
with a spring at the end which you join by putting the hook through the eye.

Hi just read your 2nd posting. Now with the front panel off refit the new door boot to the tank end 1st.Then get a flat screwdriver about 5mm wide and a pair of long nose pliers.Put the wire retainer around the door boot and hold the hook end from moving by putting the screwdriver throe the eye hole. Now grab the spring end with the long nose pliers and stretch the spring so you can latch it to the hook.It might take a few times to get it but I have found this is the easiest way if you are doing the job alone. If you have someone to help they can hold the eye end while you use the pliers on the spring end.I hope this helps and If you require further help then please reply back.

Rubber seal damaged. needs to be replaced kenmore model 970-c44052-00 How do I remove sides to get at it?

there is no need to remove the side to replace the door seal, just behind the door seal there is a spring clip undo this and fold the seal into the drum were you should see another spring clip undo that as well and the door seal comes out from the front through the hole in the door, to refit a new fold the seal till its inside out and fitted on the inner drum first fit the inner clip then pull it through the door hole and fit the outer spring clip out side the door

Remove and replace front door seal on LG wm2277HS front loader wa

Follow these steps to replace your door seal:
Disconnect all power to the machine first!!
1 Locate the outer clamp band securing the seal to the door rim on the washing machine and examine it carefully for holes or tears. Many can be prised off with a flat-bladed screwdriver they have a spring system holding them, but some have a tensioning arrangement that has to be loosened.
2 After removing the outer clamp band, locate the inner one securing the seal to the drum and establish how this is secured. It may be necessary to loosen a clip, or you may be able to prise the band off with a flat-bladed screwdriver. Some are like very large Jubilee clips that you have to undo usually from the top.
3 Once the clamp bands have been removed, use both hands to pull the seal away from the inner drum rim. Some machines have a water spout holes that will have to be lined up. Others have a drain holes.
4 Rubbing a drop of washing up liquid into the groove on the door seal/gasket that locates on the drum makes fitting the new seal easier.
5 the new washing machine door seal should be fitted by locating the drain holes at the bottom of the seal first then push it on with both hands working opposite directions towards the top. This is quite hard if you have never done it before.
6 refit the inner band remembering this must be tensioned correctly for it to be water tight.
7 now fit the outer band and the test the machine for any leaks,

Hotpoint WF340 washer machine. I have noticed the rubber seal just as you open the door has gathered water and now begins to smell, can you tell be if i can replace it, how much the part would be and how...

the door seal can be changed from the out side of the washer but its a devel of a job to do
its held on by 2 spring clips, one around the outer door seal you hook this off then you fold the seal inside out and the other spring is on the inner drum
to fit a new door seal first turn it inside out and clip the sealing spring over the inner drum, them pull the door seal over the outer caseing and put the spring round that bit,,,
net easy i sead!!!
if i were you if the old door seal is not leaking leave it be,,, just clean it up with a drop of bleach it should have drain holes in it have a look to see of there not blocked up, when ever its washing it should get flushed out every wash,, unless its blocked up,,,

If you haven't gotten a solution yet, I did this myself. It is pretty hard to remove the spring that is holding the gasket in place. Once you do that, just replace the gasket and reattach the ring w/spring.

Not a hard task if you coat rims with liquid detergent before trying to install new seal.
Using thumb go slowly around rim working seal all the way back.
Replacing main spring can be done by working bottom to top and then hold left side of spring in place while you pull right side in with long nose pliers.A couple of minutes difficult work and your 90% done.
Care is required so as not to puncture seal,
Main point is to ensure seal is fully seated before applying spring.
Having machine laid on its back makes the job so much easier.

This job took an hour and 30 minutes, the hour spent checking the internet first.
Good luck

The inner spring cable is a tough part to put back on without a special tool.  You're best bet is to remove the front cover of the washer to try and reinstall the seal.  If it doesn't work, you will need to call a qualified LG technician to help you.
