I have an lg Rumor 2 phone. It is supposed to automatically lock the keypad and turn off the screen when it is idle. It does that but within 2 seconds it turns itself on again with the screen on and the keyboard active. It continues this cycle until the battery dies. That had been working just fine until recently.

hi, it is very possible to unlock it permanently or increase the time..all you need to do is to go to setting on your phone...check your phone setting, then try to locate your automatic key guard....you could increase the time or you select off..

Changing the BacklightTime Length
Select how long the display screen and keypad remain backlit
after any keypress is made.
1. Press Menu > Settings/Tools > Settings > Display >
Main Screen > Backlight.
2. Select a time setting and press .
Note Long backlight settings reduce the battery’s talk and standby
times.

THIS WORKS!! This will erase ALL phone numbers saved by text messaging. Go to tools and settings... Select settings.... Select more.... Select security.... Enter lock code, if you have not changed it, it is either 0000, or the last 4 numbers of your phone number... select erase reset... Select erase messages... Select yes. You have no saved numbers under text messaging if you followed these steps. My pleasure.

key board doesnt type

I had this problem too. Do you have a micro sd disk installed? If so, remove the micro sd disk. When you restart it should start right up, and then you can put the micro sd disk back in and all should work normally. I know, it is a big pain in the rear. For some reason when it boots up, IF there is a micro sd disk in, it tries to boot from the sd disk, and can't get out of that cycle. I don't like little bugs like this and will wait and see if I buy a rumor 2 or not the next time I replace one of my other phones.

1. Press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to activate the programming mode associated with the memory position 1 settings. Holding the 1/2 button for more than 2 seconds after activation erases the stored personal code.

1. Within 5 seconds, enter the new 5-digit RKE keypad code. The door locks lock and unlock to confirm the new code is programmed and associated with the memory position 1 settings. Entering any new personal code automatically erases the old personal code.

Within the settings there is an auto lock feature that you can enable to make your phone lock automatically after something like 10 15,20,30, seconds or a minute. It should be under keypad settings
