Did you have the tank removed from the bowl?
if you did, there is a rather large nut that holds the flush valve to the tank, fairly simple to reinstall.
if you did not have the tank removed from the bowl, and you pulled up on the overflow tube "round white thing" then you probably broke it. you will need to replace the whole flush valve assembly.
you can get one from your local hardware store. you will also need new tank bolts, and a new gasket that goes between the tank and bowl.

Eljer 0220 toilet leaks from tank to bowl, then fill valve spurts out water from top and around the edges, and also through the tube that goes to the overflow. Replaced the flapper, but still leaks. Also...

When the tank is full and leaking into the bowl reach in and put slight pressure on the flapper and if the leak stops then you may have the wrong flapper or the flapper is not installed properly. If that is not the case then make sure the flush valve seat is not cracked or that the surface is not warped.

Toilet runs on

check your flapper valve. Is it seating corretcly? Check the lenght of the flapper chain is it too long? Make sure the handle is tight so adjustment is correct. Check float to see where water level is. Is it above drain tube? If so move float down to decrease water height.

Water is leaking out , close water off then water in tank goes empty. when water on you can hear water runing in tank

Your flush valve (flapper) is leaking. Some of these rubber flappers snap on to posts. Others, slide down the overflow tube. Others are the plunger type that lift straight up and down (some of these have a gasket on the bottom that go bad.) In any case be sure flapper closes properly. Make sure the chain to the handle isn't so long as to get between valve and seat holding flapper open. If all else fails buy a fluidmasgter flush fixer repair kit and follow directions. I had a similar problem one winter and wasted about 200.00 on water.,

HOW DO I CHANGE FLUSH SEAL ON KOHLER ONE PEICE TOILET

The flush seal is the rubber gasket between the tank and the bowl. You do not have one. So I am guessing you mean the wax ring on the floor?? They usually only get replaced when the toilet is changed, unless you spring a leak. Or are you talking about the flapper inside the tank that holds the water till the flush lever is pulled? Get a new flapper, if it is just the flapper you need, otherwise you will have to buy the whole thing, all these parts are available at the hardware store. I think it is held on by a couple screws in there, might just be a press fit, we don't see too many one piece toilets. And the wax ring is about $2, but the toilet has to be unbolted from the floor and water disconnected, clean off the old wax, put on the new ring, smoosh it back down and bolt it back it up. Don't for get the water line. Check to make sure you have no leaks. Hope this helps.

Pump cycles often

The following are the possible problems and solutions:
  1. The tank flapper (Flush Valve) leaking allowing water into bowl. Make sure flapper is fully seated. If flapper is fully seated and still is leaking replace flapper.
  2. Faulty Non-Return Check Valve, water leaking back into Macerator. Clean and Inspect check valve replace if after clean water still flows back into Macerator.
I hope this answers your question and gives you a few more places to look. Please rate the answer on it's helpfulness. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

Tank not holding fill level...

Most likely, you do not have a good seal on the flapper valve at the bottom of the tank. To confirm, try this:
Turn off water and flush toilet. Then lift up the flapper valve and put a light coating of vaseline on the mating surface where it contacts the toilet tank when closed.
Turn water back on and see if it continues misbehaving. If that fixes it, it was a bad seal. Usually that is all it takes.

Water leakage from the gasket under the flapper

You will need to replace or repair with new gaskets your flush valve mechanism. "To do that you need to take the tank apart from the bowl. Have new toilet bolts and flush valve or flush valve gaskets at the ready when you take the tank off. (you will also have to unhook the fill valve when you take the tank off.) Another possibility would be a cracked tank that is causing the leak in that area but that is rare.
