The SP-700 does not allow you to take photos in black&white. It will let you convert color photos to black&white, however. See the "Editing Still Photos (REDEYE FIX/BLACK&WHITE/SEPIA" section in the advanced manual (page 78 in my copy).

If you need a manual, you can get one from the manufacturer at

When I take photos in the sun they very bright, the screen is almost white and the photos come out the same that you can't see what the photo is. In shady conditions or indoors they photos are fine

The aperture control circuit of camera is not functioning like it is supposed to - in bright light it like your eye is supposed to get smaller to avoid overexposure.

U need to take camera to Olympus. But if it is not a very expensive camera it might be cheaper to cut your loses and get another camera. The prices of parts and labor can just kill you.

White line on viewing screen

If the line is also on your photos it is a bad censor assembly, if the line is just on the LCD than the LCD is faulty. Either way you are looking at a trip to the repair shop.

How do i take black and white photos

The SP-810UZ has no provision for taking black&white photos. However just about any photo editing program will convert color photos to black&white. Doing so on a computer actually gives you much more control over the process, allowing you to control brightness, contrast, and other factors, instead of relying on some defaults determined by a camera designer. And if you happen to encounter Bigfoot getting out of his flying saucer, you'll have color photos to sell to the tabloids :-)

How do you take a black and white photo with olympus tg-310?

The TG-310 does not have any way of taking black&white photos, nor does it offer a method to convert photos to black&white.
However, you can convert a color photo to black&white (or sepia, or cyanotype, or a lot of other effects) using just about any photo editing program on a computer. This actually gives you more control over the conversion, as you can control things like contrast and brightness.

How do i take a black and white and sepia photo on olympus SP800UZ

The SP 800UZ doesn't have a black-and-white or sepia mode. You can convert a color picture to black-and-white or sepia by editing the picture on the camera. Full details are in the "Edit" section of the manual (page 38 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/oima_cckb/SP-800UZ_Instruction_Manual_EN.pdf

In general, you're better off converting to black-and-white or sepia using photo editing software on a computer rather than doing it on the camera. The computer will give you much better control over things like brightness and contrast.

I have an Olympus SP-700 for around 4 years now,no probs, when I clicked on the icon this evening to download some pics I keep getting the message Olympus Master .exe has encountered a problem and needs to...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
