Machine wont agitate

Could be several things, is the machine filling up with water?
1st thing is the water level switch, inside at the rear of the machine, If water is not detected then the machine won't start.
This is probably the cheapest and easiest to replace first.
Isolate the machine from the mains, lift the whole top lid (insert a flat blade 4" from each side at the front top seam to release).
Lid will tilt all the way up and back.
Switch is rounded about 3" diameter at the back behind the drum, 3 wires with a small hose attached, replace keeping all the wires in the correct places and re-attach the hose.

Need to replace spin switch on Kenmore 110.26832690. Have switch but can't get to it.

you would need to remove the outter base,,,,first unplug machine, then remove the screws on the control panel each end,,some machines you have to remove the panel end caps to get at the screws,,,then pull the panel forward a bit and flip it back it has plastic hinges on top so be careful,,then you can unplug the lid switch,,pop off the 2 gold clips with a screwdriver that hold the base to the back panel,,,,then open the lid reach inside the rim pull the back of the base up and towards you and lift off ,,,if you look inside and pay attention to how it comes off the bottom frame it will be a whole lot easier to put back,,,once the base is off you can replace the lid switch then reinstall the base,,, don't forget to plug the switch back in!

Washing machine will not drain or spin.

HELLO: YES THE LID SWITCH IS BAD. TO REPLACE THE LID SWITCH YOU MUST REMOVE THE COVER ON THE MACHINE. FIRST REMOVE THE TWO PHILLIPS SCREWS FROM THE CONTROL CENTER ON TOP BACK OF MACHINE . TILT BACK THE TIMER AND CONTROL CENTER GENTLY. THERE ARE TWO FUNNY LOOKING LID RETAINER SPRINGS THAT HOLD THE ENTIRE THREE SIDES OF THE MACHINE TOGETHER REMOVE THESE WITH A FLAT BLADE SCREW DRIVER. REMOVE THE POWER PLUG FROM THE WASHER UNDER TOP. SLIDE COVER OFF MACHINE THEN REMOVE THE TWO PHILLLIPS SCREWS FROM THE LID SWITCH ASSY. UNPLUG SWITCH FROM COVER AND REPLACE WITH NEW UNIT . THERE IS ALSO ONE GROUND SCREW 5/16 THAT WILL COME OFF FROM UNDER NEATH THE COVER. THIS SOUNDS A LITTLE COMPLICATED BUT THE WHOLE PROCEDURE CAN BE DONE IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. I do not know how to remove the top from my whirlpool washing machine to replace the lid switch

Unplug the machine.
There is a screw at the bottom of the console on each end of the machine, remove them.

The console should then lift up and roll over the back(just make sure its supported or suports its self).

At the center of the machine there is a white plug, for the safety switch, unplug it.

On each side of the machine there is a brass colored clip, use a flat screwdriver and insert it into the front of the clip, push back smartly, this will release the clip. PAY ATTENTION to the way the clip comes out. (which end is the front of the clip) mark things if your not too handy so it goes back together easly.

This machine is put together alot like a puzzle so paying alot of attention to what you do will alllow you to put it back together.

The whole cabinet rolls forward, the sides along the bottom sit on an edge on the bottom, but the front is hooked UNDER the bottom edge. try to notice this. as you rotate the cabinate the front will fall free after you rotate the whole thing over about 45 degrees. The back will kinda float.

Fix it myself

Hi

You are on the way.  Since you have the switches laid back now with clear space in front of the washer.  Remove the Screws from the back and roll the whole Body forward.  This will expose the inner workings of the washer for you.  I like to bring the washer out of the house to an open area to do this.  It makes the job a whole bunch easier. The lid does not pop up.
