Good day,
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well it can be explained, but here is a tutorial that takes you thru the process.
You will need a ratchet set with a long extension, plus ordinary hand tools.

Usually changing the dog agits are the same on each model of the same brand. With the model number I can tell you exactly how to change the dog agits.

Kenmore 80 series( older one ) not spinning out properly. Seen traces off oil on bottom trans.

The oil is a sign of a failing transmission, I would check the direct drive coupling for broken
pins and also replace the "dog agits" located under the cover on the agitator. You have to take out the bolt in the center to lift the upper portion of the agitator to replace these. They are designed to wear out to prevent transmission breakage. They cost around 5 dollars for a set. Model and serial are under the lid back by the control panel.
If the dog agits do not solve the problem, and the coupler is intact then the transmission
is failing. Hope this helps.

I am attempting to remove the top portion of the agitator on my model 110.28924790 Kenmore washer to replace the dog agits. I successfully removed the fabric softener piece and popped off the underlying...

You get a 3/4 drive extension and rachet and unscrew that nut (righty tighty lefty loosey) and the top portion lifts right off. It is actually easier than the old style.

Twister in machine will not turn cloths, checked belts, its, ok help me

the agitator has 4 little gears called Dog Agits that go bad. The part is about $9.00 and all it takes to change it is a 7/16 socket. Pop the top of the agitator off and use the socket to take out the bolt that holds the agitator on then pull up on the agitator to remove it. There will be a small plastic piece inside the agitator that can be removed and you'll be able to see how to change them from there. Good luck and if you need more help just post me back.

I have the dog agits to replace Whirlpool top load washer LLR6233AWO I have the dog agits to replace in my top agitator and cant figure out how to take the top off the bottom

On mine I pulled on the fabric softener plastic top.And under it was a cap. I pulled the cap off and looked inside to see a bolt (I think it was a 1/2" size. I needed a 1/2" socked and a 6" long extension and took the bolt completly loose. Righty tighty ,Lefty loosey. Then I just pulled up on big center plastic part and the dogs are under it. I hope this helps you.

Washer will not aggitate all other functions work fine

Sounds like you need a set of dogs...(dog agits)...

Pop the top off the agitator and remove the bolt. Pull the agitator top off and inspect the dogs...(small tear drop shaped pieces of nylon)...

Sounds like the dogs lost their bite aka teeth.

Replacing dog agits

Should be a plastic insert that you have to turn counter clock wise till you can pull out. Then remove top section of agitator. then with a socket 9/16 deep socket remove the nut. When you remove nut the bolt may come with it thats ok, then you can remove agitator. good luck
