Question about Televison & Video

The tv is plugged in but it won't come on. I've taken off the back and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong but it's still not coming on by remote or manually pressing the power button. What should I do?

  • Replace the lamp on the TV and make sure the cover is on -
  • Step 1Turn off and unplug the RCA TV and wait at least 30 minutes for the old lamp to cool down. RCA's lamps can reach heats of 200 degrees Fahrenheit, so make sure you wait the allotted time before beginning.
  • Step 2Find the lamp's access door in the lower-right corner of the back of your RCA TV.
  • Step 3Unscrew the screw on the access door with a flathead screwdriver, then grasp the two tabs and pull the door gently away from the remainder of the TV. Keep track of the screw and don't let it roll away.
  • Step 4Use the screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the lamp itself in position. You don't need to remove the screws, just loosen them.
  • Step 5Pull the lamp out of its housing firmly, taking care not to force it or damage the surrounding housing. Note the position of the lamp in the housing as you do so; the new lamp needs to match it perfectly.
  • Step 6Insert the replacement lamp into the housing, taking care to place it in the same position as the old lamp. Tighten the two screws on its frame to secure it into position.
  • Step 7Replace the access door and tighten the screw into position. The RCA TV won't turn on unless the door is secured.
  • Step 8Plug the TV in and turn it on. Wait 60 seconds, then tune to a channel to see if you can receive a signal.
  • Step 9Place the used lamp in the box which contained the new lamp, seal it and contact your local sanitation department for instructions on disposing of it safely. (Some RCA lamps hold small amounts of mercury, so you can't just throw them away. )

    Tv will not turn on

This sounds like it might be a main board issue. Depending on the television brand there are different replacements you can get at different prices. I would try unplugging the tv from the wall first then try plugging it back in while holding channel up/volume up on the tv as you are plugging it back into the wall. If this doesn't change anything it is most likely a problem with your main board.

My laptop won't turn on, and the charger doesn't seem to be doing anything. even when plugged in, it won't start. ideas?

You've to replace the ac adapter, if it's brick doesn't get warm or LED does not glow on Power Jack on the laptop. offcourse, check with the wall different sockets

power jack can also be loose. so jiggle the cable to find out.

if notebook is getting power, you can remove the battery, ac adapter, hold and keeep pressing poer button for a minute, then, turn it on.

finally, you can take out hdd and ram, put them back again and turn on the laptop. hope it will help

I have a husqvarna viking 5610 and it was an auction find. The reverse button doesn't work at all. It won't go in or anything. I've looked inside the back and it doesn't appear that...

Try setting the machine in direct sunlight with the back cover off and let it get nice and warm. It might even need a little assistance from a hair drier. Warm the area directly behind the reverse button. If you can get it to move a little, you will see which parts are moving. Use Tri-Flow on these parts and they may come loose without having to take it in for service. DO NOT USE WD-40 or 3-IN-1 oil. Go to a bicycle shop and get a small bottle of Tri-Flow liquid. If that won't work, any authorized Husqvarna Viking repair center should be able to take care of it for you. Don't force anything too hard. If you break anything, you may not be able to find parts as they are no longer available from the manufacturer.

All of a sudden the MP560 won't turn on. The outlet is working but the printer doesn't respond to the ON button. I've checked the power cord it seems to be ok, the cord hasn't moved or been...

This may be a longshot, but many electronic devices like TVs, dryers with electronic computerized controls, entertainment systems like the Wii, and other devices sometimes get "confused" and won't turn on, turn off, or otherwise work properly, perhaps due to a small power surge in your AC line.

I've found that one of the first things to try when it appears to be a failure of the electronics and not a mechanical issue is to unplug the device at the wall (to make sure that any power adapter is also unplugged) and wait about 10 minutes for any residual electric charge to dissipate. Then plug the device back in and give it a try. This has worked with a television, a Wii console, an electric clothes dryer, and some other devices that I thought had died for good. This may explain why sometimes a device is taken to a repair shop and it works fine.

There are, of course, other reasons that the unit won't turn on, but I would try this first before looking for other reasons for the problem.

Alright so I have a Logitech webcam C160 and I've used it plenty of times now and I've taken good care of it. The problem is when I plug it in and go to use it, the green light flashes then turns...

I would go to control panel, bring up devices, and attempt to rollback driver, reboot and test. If this did not work, verify there are not two drivers assigned to port - open device manager again off System, then check device drivers. if two - remove the second one. If still does not work remove all drivers, uninstall all software through the add/remove programs, remove device, install software, plug in device, then reboot again.
