Question about Western Digital My Book Essential 500GB External USB 2.0 - WDH1U5000N 500 GB Hard Drive
It just flashes successively without spinning or recognizing . It was working well but this problem appeared suddenly without dropping .
I tried to replace wires and connect to other PC but it doesn't work .
At least, how I can get the loaded files .
Your cooperation is highly appreciated
If it is still under warranty, Western Digital will replace it, but all your data will be gone (shipped to them, but they take no responsibility for "rescuing" your files).
What you could try is to open the case, separate the disk-drive from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and then connect the disk-drive as a "slave" disk-drive in some desktop computer, to see if you can access the files, i.e., that USB-to-disk-drive adapter could have failed.
Or, search online for a professional "Data Recovery" service. For a lot of money, they will repair your disk-drive, just long-enough to copy all your files.
