Usually you would remove the front of the dryer so you can put the belt aournd the open end of the tub. Here is a link to the Whirlpool web site. Take a look at the parts list and the second page with cabinet parts. Note how the front comes off. Usually some screws under edge with door open, maybe a few more around the drum opening and lint screen.

Dryer heats but doesn't turn.

Most likely the belt broke on the drum. Less likely the motor died. When turn the dryer on do you hear the motor running? If so you probably broke the belt. You will have to unlock the top and pull the front off. The belt rides around the drum towards the back of the dryer.

Fridgaire dryer model #FDEC216RES1 drum isnt turning

If the dryer does not turn then you need to take the back off and see if the belt has broke or come off. If the belt broke or came off then you can get a new one at most home repair stores. If the belt is on and or not broke the see if the wheel mounted to the motor will freely spin. If it does spin the make sure that the electric wires attached to the motor itself are attached and there are no shortages from the motor to the relay on the back of the control panel.

I have a frigidaire gallery 49012/59012 dryer and the drum want turn. The belt is not broke and the motor runs. I can see the belt is not turning on the drum. Is the belt maybe stretched or what?

You may have a belt motor problem. Turn the drum by hand and if it turns freely the belt is off at the motor pulley. You can try to connect it back on the motor pulley but what caused it to come off first off. Your belt may be bad or the pulley assembly may also be bad. You'll have to pull out the dryer and remove the back panel to see and repair. Good luck.

I have a Kenmore model 80 dryer. It turns on

Hello there:
Thisis caused by a belt that has either broke or the motor for the belt has failed i would remove the back panel of the dryer to axcess the motor and the belt and inspect to see if the belt has broke if not than i would have the motor checked out or there may be a capacitor for the motor that has failed.
If you feel that you can do the repairs i would suggest doing it cause you would save your self a lot of money doint it your self ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards michael
