Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

My Dell 926 all in one printer has started putting a red line through all the photos I try to scan. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

    it doesn't do it when I scan it at the top, just when it is scanned at the bottom. It only does it most of the time, but will randomly stop doing it for a few photos then start doing it again. Of course, I then have to crop all the pictures, but it works for the time being.

It could idicate a weak laser. try cleaning the glass with a soft cloth which also sometimes begins to give a kind of coloured look which it gets older. if none works trying moving the picture form position to position across the glass to see if it does give the same problem.

    If it works at the top then looks like you will have to stick with the top. It surprising how how this devices work......even a little noise from the machine during scanning from the mechanical gears could send that high pitched noise which the device may record into the image. But again since it does not work at the top and have no problem croping them then things should be just fine.

Did you figure this out? You should have a "Dell All-In-One Center" that was installed with the drivers for the printer. Try searching for it by pasting that phrase in the box in your "Start" button. When you locate it, drag the shortcut to your desktop or up in the top of the programs in the Start location. When you click on the Dell All-In-One Center icon, you should find some options for scanning.

click start, click printers and faxes, click scanners and cameras, double click on scanner image device (scanner and camera wizard pops up) follow instructions from there.

Resolution of scanned images are pixled and horrible.


Have you tried using the "Dell All-In-One Center" that should have come on a disc with the printer/driver? Try searching for "Dell All-In-One Center" near/in the start button search. This will give you options for setting the DPI on the scan.

I can't scan with my printer


try to remove the driver software and after a restart re-install the driver on the pc and see what happens.

I can print from my Dell 926 all in one, but it wont scan


Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.

Kindly try to check if you have completed all the installation of your dell 926 driver including the driver for your scanner. Then Please you can reinstall it and reconfigured the setting to be able to use the full features of your dell 926.

Dell Photo 926 - unable to scan


1. try to make a copy.

if it copy fine, then its an issue with software.

2. Try to scan with MS Paint,

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
Click on file > from scanners and camera > scan

It should scan if its not the windows issue...

3. Try different computer if it does not scan with Paint\

4. If it works with Paint, try to open Dell AIO center and try to fax from that too...

5. Turn the printer off, take the power brick out from back of the printer where power cable goes in , wait for 15 seconds to connect it back and turn on and try again to print, it should work fine

Dell photo 926 printer communication problem


1)right click the my computer icon
2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager.
3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers
5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer
6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next
7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.
