Canon pixma ip90 printer is not printing blue colours. i've tried cleaning but it doesn't work.

If the blue ink cartridge is not empty, then it means that either the pront head or the ink cartridge is clogged. Here are some information about ink cartridge cleaning, and here you can find some information about print head cleaning.

It seems to work, paper comes out, ink cartridge moves freely,it just wont print

I have had this problem myself, the ink has dried inside the print head, I used isopropyl alchohol (IPA) after removing the head and carefully cleaned the head using a soft cloth, also I dripped a few small drops onto the mesh where the ink goes from the cartridges into the head itself, placed it back into the printer, popped in some brand new cartridges and printed a good few test pages to clear it all out, do this quite quickly so as not to degrade anything inside the head.

hope this helps you

No black ink printing even after replacing with new cartridge. Have tried deep cleaning the heads etc.

You most likely need a new printhead, QY6-0052-000, around $40.00. There is also a firmware update for your machine that will help keep the black ink printing.

CanonPIXMA iP90 Color Ink Tank installation problem

yeah it sounds like a cartridge sensors are stuck or broken. i would say to replace the whole print unit. It will need a service support dealer to fit this part unless you can buy it and fir it yourself.

hope this helps

Canon IP90 portable . No ink printing.

Have you performed a nozzle test? If one or more of the colors is missing when you do the nozzle test, the printhead itself is likely in need of replacement.

Before considering replacment, perform a clean on the printer. Due to variations between mac and pc, please see your documentation / support files on how to perform the clean on your printer.

After performing the clean, again perform the nozzle check to see if the problem is resolved.

If still not resolved, remove and re-install any cartridges you recently replaced to make certain they are installed correctly.

Prints without any errors but no ink on the paper.

if you have new print head assembly and cartridges, and waited for flow, and the printer is MECHANICALLY sound (not dropped or G-force damaged), then all that is left is improper cartridge installation. You may not have the cartridges fully inserted/, or maybe they are not PROPERLY inserted. Look for a snap when in place (and no wiggle). I suspect this is your problem, because one symptom you mention, ink accumulation INSIDE the head/cartridge cradle, is VERY rare -unless the cartridge is inserted improperly. The cartridges/head assemblies have VERY good seals to prevent leakage. Unless the o-rings/seals are damaged, leakage outside the seal just does not happen at all, normally.

*New head/cartridge installs can take several hours -sometimes even a day in cold weather, for small iP90-like printers to saturate the heads -and print.

Black has stopped altogether

He says he replaced the cartridge twice. Possibly (most likely if it is an iP90 since after-market versions are rare) these WERE the OEM Canon cartridges! Therefore, the head assembly (a separate component, that holds the iP90 cartridges) is obviously the problem. Do this: I have written this for the Canon iP90. Generally, this will work for any printer that has print heads that are SEPARATE from ink cartridges. For example, older B/W BJ2 family Canon/Apple StyleWriter printers have ink cartridges that INCORPORATE the print head into the cartridge -so this will NOT work on them! (although I once succeeded in cleaning the heads, it was VERY messy and took several days, then required another trick thereafter). Also be aware that this is for B/W or Color printers that use water vehicle (water based) inks only (most are water-based, but some printer inks are alcohol, oil or acetone based). The appropriate vehicle/solvent must be used, and the WRONG solvent can damage heads! (for example, using water, alcohol or acetone for cleaning oil based ink cartridges can be disastrous). RESEARCH your ink "base" first, if you do not know what it is! iP90 Head Cleaning by DanaSaur: 1 These ink cartridges are grey. Remove both cartridges. 2 Now remove the head assembly that held the cartridges (black, with 3 small round seals and one large seal) (consult manual, in NEW setup sections, if still uncertain how). DO NOT TOUCH ANY PART OF THE SMALL WHITE PAD BENEATH THE ASSEMBLY. 3 Now take this whole assembly ONLY, (it is 4.5cmx5cm, 1.5inx2.0in) and drop it into a small container of warm water. DEFINE WARM: Think of a range between a "baby bottle" (slightly above body temp) up to any temp that does NOT cause pain/discomfort to the underside of your wrist!) Let it soak 30 minutes. 4 Take a NEW, CLEAN, SOFT toothbrush, dip it in warm water, and GENTLY clean the small components on the white pad below, AND the 4 seals inside the head assembly. 5 Rinse everything (even toothbrush) in warm water, under a faucet, until all items are clean (no color appears in water). 6 Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 above (but can use the same toothbrush) This time though, leave assembly in water 2-3 hours, keeping it warm (replace water every 20 minutes or so). 7 Rinse everything again, as in 5 above, gently tap off excess water (DO NOT TAP WHITE PAD FLAT AGAINST ANYTHING -ONLY CORNERS) 8 Set assembly white side down, yet tilted on a corner with a pen or clean 0.5-1cm object, on a smooth, clean surface in a closet (or other isolated environment, to avoid dust/lint etc). 9 Set a small piece of tissue wadded up and soaked with water, in the same closet (but not too close to head assembly). This will be your "advanced, high-tech, moisture level gauge" :) 9. Allow the tissue to COMPLETELY DRY... even to its core! When this has happened (may take several hours -or day in colder weather) the head assembly is dry enough to re-install in the printer. 10 Install cartridges (may be best for you to buy new ones, sorry). Let them gravity flow with natural capillary attraction for a few hours (or allow a day if room is cool/cold). Always keep printer lid CLOSED to avoid drying out ink/clogging heads or capturing dust/lint from atmosphere. 11 run head cleaning process as many times as it takes to re-saturate heads with ink. 12. Now, after doing all these steps faithfully, if printer has not started working, you let the heads dry out way too long, or contaminated them with touch (skin oil) or the wrong solvents. You will need to BUY a new head assembly. Bend over bud, this is what gets Canon accountants ****! This is why they offer cheap printers -to extort obscene amounts of money when you need parts :)
