Question about Creative Labs Zen V MP3 Player

Player Will not turn on

Hi there. I've had my player for quite a few months now, and I've been experienving some strange problems.
The screen on my player occasionally freezes, and I cannot turn it off or plug it into the computer (because it isn't recognized)
I normally just wait until the battery dies and then I plug it in a charge it, and everything is fine again. This has happened about three times.
Now, this time, I was in the middle of listening to a song, and right when the song ended the player's screen turned black as if it was going on sleep mode, but when I pressed a button it would not turn on. This happened last night. I plugged it into the computer this morning after trying to turn it on again, and it isn't recognized. The player won't even turn on in the slightest. The buttons don't even light up. What should I do?

If you turned it on before you charged it when you got it, that may be the problem, i would take it back to the store, get a new one, and charge it immidiately and make sure you use the disc to install it

Run a repair in the Philips Device Manager - make sure the lock switch is disengaged first.

How does the battery look? Mine would work fine when connected via usb to a system but would freeze up and or not work due to a bad battery.

Sansa MP4 player is not recognized by my computer and it stays on the refresh database screen

Mostly this kind of problem occurs in sansa due to incompatible settings. Try the MSC mode in the setup instead of the normal mode. Then the player will appear as a unique drive. Copy the music files to appropriate folders and eject the drive. The database will then refresh again...Also reset the settings to factory default atleast once.

Have a nice day...I hope that this solves ur problem :)

My screen is messing up

Hi hope this helps. Turn off your e260. Slide the hold switch for it to show red/orange color. Then press the record button and the menu button until you see on the screen of the player "Welcome to Recovery Mode". Now go to the sandisk website and download the firmware update if you have not tried to update the firmware of the player. Run and install it on your computer, when it ask you to connect a device hook your player to the computer and then it will try to look for updates for the player. When it does update the firmware of the player. And also if you can get to the menus of the player you may want to format the player maybe it is your songs causing the problem. Switch the player to MSC then open My Computer and format your player on that window.
