Question about Magic Chef Microwave Ovens
The control board has a problem, most likely. A door switch that will not close will not allow the unit to come on, but usually you will get a response to buttons on the keypad, so your main control board is the likely suspect. When you get in there, try to wiggle any connecting wires, to make sure they're tight...you might disconnect them and try to spray wire connectors with electrical spray, in case they're some oxidation. Sometimes you can get lucky this way. Otherwise, the control board will have to be replaced.
Get an estimate first, if you decide to have it serviced. The control board on this unit has a record of going bad, and even turning the unit on in the middle of the night, so it's the likely suspect. Good luck, and hope this helps!
