Question about Televison & Video
Sorry, I am trying to help but with the clarification.Knowing that you are aware of the fault I would suggest that you strt your check from the area of the Power driver, Switch mode transformer and the Main capacitor. Please check on the +B at the time of power off. If the main voltage stays and if the sub supply votage to the processor also is in the standby mode, then you will have to check on the timer cut off output from the processor. Assuming that you have not set up the delay timer off , you will have to check for the switch on/off trigger from the processor. Another component that could be erratic could be the the optocoupler that switches the SMPS. If you can test the voltage on switch off , it would be confirmed. Please check these voltages , look out for any heating components that could detach on heating and on cooling resume the connection, this could be the wire wound resistors, coils or the power drive transistors/ diode. Please smell for any such heating but please do it with caution when the power is connected.
I am sure you understand that that could be several related component weakning in this complaint which will require a through voltage test analysis when the set comes to the fault. So make a note of the voltages during the working condition and do the same during the failure time, make this note and check the area relted to the switch-on/ off that is the trigger from the processor/ the optocoupler/ the feedback from the error amps.Another way to get this culprit is to use a freezing spray on the suspected area which is showing a thermal runaway. If on cooling the set jumps back to power(do this spray only with power off) Probe on to get the defective component... check onthe electrolitic capacitors in this area.
I have responded only thinking that an inexperienced check could sometimes prove expensive. So it is only an advise to go about. I hope you will take this test with caution.Good Luck. Good day
