Hi Donald. not sure how many calls you get from

The fault seems to be in the sensor and the mode switch of the loading system which is connected with the main controller processor and loading driver.
This can be a failure of the tape end detector which is a IR - infra red- emitter which is placed in the center of the tape tray and MUST feed continuous signal to the END IR detectors placed at either ends.
Also the tape seems to load with a false detection of the cassette within when the tray is closed for this reason of the failure along with a possible misplaced mode switch settings. This triggers to make the loading move without a reason and so can be due to failure of the the mode switch or unbalanced settings. You will need some experience to remove the tray unit, then check on the IR sensors and also check the settings of the loading drive and mode switch.

I have a JVC GR-DX25EK digital video camera which I have had for several years and never had any problems with. I used it yesterday to video my daughters wedding but when the tape ran out I couldn't...

The tape must be broken or rolled inside the camera, try to see if you can open the camera door a bit and force tape out. You will probably lose the tape.

80 minute tape problems

Try cleaning the video heads in the camera. You can buy a head cleaner tape which I'm not a big fan of, or, use a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol on the video drum (delicately and just barely damped).

It seems like your carriage unit needs servicing.. basically the gears that load the tape and move the tape wheels have become worn.. You can attempt to repair this your self at the risk of rendering it useless. YOu can call a service center and let them service it or you can take it in to a profession technician and let him rebuild the gear to gear ratio for you ..

If any other experts have other suggestions you can try, please by all means try them, take mine as a last resort..

I get 3 to 4 brown bands across the screen when replaying a tape

Hi,
I do not fully understand your question, but if you are talking about a tape camcorder, then I would suggest that you purchase a quality video head cleaner for that particular camera.
It does come as a cassette like the one you take your videos with.
That would be the cheapest "repair"; there are more causes of course.
Worse case: Faulty CCD sensor.

If it does cure your problems with the recorded tapes, is another question.
Good luck

JVC GR D247EK #140M0089 - Camera stopped loading cassettes. Remains in eject position.

Remove the battery for 30 minutes and try again. When putting the tape on camera press only where indicated by an arrow. Good luck!

Camera is a JVC GR-DF470 Video Camera. Problem is UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE EJECT AND REINSERT TAPE ERROR 03. I have done this and problem still remains.

I have the same model of camera and the same problem has occurred after two years of use. I am not sure why it happens but checking on other web sites, it may have to do with tape tension and the brand of tape. Up to now, I was using Sony and JVC tapes which worked fine but a recent purchase of TDK tapes seems to have caused this problem.

My fix was to take the tape out and then manually wind the tape a couple of turns by inserting one flat blade screwdriver in the tape lock tab (bottom middle of tape case) and using another to wind the tape. This appeared to fix the tape tension and after loading it back in, the tape and the camera worked fine.

Hope this helps.
