I had the same problem, the blue led would flash too on mine. I slapped the back of the monitor fairly hard and it came back on, then i disabled monitor sleep mode and screen saver and its been good for 30 days. I do run the monitor 24/7 too so...:) if its still eledgiable for waranty just send it in and have them fix it. 3 years i think is the average limit. they pay for shipping too :)

It may have failed DC filter caps in the power supply section just all brands of LCD monitors that fail after 2 years.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Need both laptop and monitor on at same time.

Hey Roger,
Below is information that should help you with trying to get monitor and notebook screen to work.
First make sure your laptop is equipped to be able to connect a secondary display, there should be a port for connecting a standard monitor cable on the back.
Connect your secondary monitor and reboot the laptop, the system bios should recognize that a second monitor has been added.
Then right click on your desktop and bring up the display properties dialog box.
Select "settings"
Your laptop should be identified as monitor 1 and you should also be able to see the secondary monitor as monitor 2.
Click on the secondary monitor and check the box that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor".
Set your screen resolution and color quality for the second monitor and click apply.
Directing icons and browser windows over to the other monitor is just a matter of drag and drop.

Thank You,

Lg flatscreen monitor

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

The screen on my acer aspire 3100 crack so i bought a vga cable to connect to my flatscreen but the picture switches back to my laptop when its starts up the only way that it works on my flatscreen is when...

Go into your display settings. It should show at least two different monitors. Your laptop monitor and the external one your plugged into. Click on the external one and click on the two check boxes. Click on extend the desktop into this monitor first. Then click on this is my main monitor. Reboot your computer and it should be on your external monitor.

My 22" dell lcd flatscreen monitor just went out

I know it sounds stupid, but check all the cables and connection. Also make sure the cables are in good order.

Now with that out of the way. Is it getting any lights or indications of power at all? If so it could be a cable or connection point.

Worse case senerio, if your not getting any lights or indications of power (sometimes it seems like it should turn on) the monitor may have had a capacitor or power supple unit failure.

LCD can go out like that from long use or heat. If its older than 4 years its possible its done.
You can have someone open it up and check for budging or bad capacitors. This may be a cheaper option if you have someone is town.

Sorry to hear about the monitor. Good luck!

When i turn on it goes start to pc entering power saving mode

Are you sure it isn't the monitor entering powersave mode?
An unhooked monitor (especially flatscreen DELLs ) will go into powersave mode if it isn't getting a signal but is getting power.

First unplug and then replug your monitor. Both ends of the cord, the end in the back of the monitor (if it comes out at all) and the end that plugs into the computer.(unplug it from the wall first)

Reboot computer.

If that fails...(and you do have a video card)

Unplug everything from the computer, open the box, ground yourself by touching the metal frame of the computer case and reseat your video card....you may have to undo one screw to get it out.
DON'T drop the screw into the case!

Put it all back together and try again.

If that all fails Boot Windows (windows right?) into safe mode and change the power settings for the monitor...perhaps something got changed or broken by an update.

If that fails....

Get Linux.

LG LCD Monitor won't exit Power Saving Mode

Does your desktop/PC display show anything before the monitor goes into power save mode? If nothing comes up, its possible that you have a loose VGA connection or that your video card/motherboard are defective in some ways. Try using a different monitor.

If the other monitor works fine with your computer, try changing/lowering the screen resolution. If in XP right-click on the desktop and go to Properties, and select the tab for display settings and adjust the resolution. If in Vista/Win7, right-click the desktop and select Screen Resolution/Display Settings and adjust it there. Then check and see if your LG monitor works on it.

If the other monitor also doesn't show any display, most likely the problem is either with your video cable or your PCs video card/motherboard, not the monitor.

Hope that helps. Good luck

Here is one small solution. goto start: -> control panel -> display click on the "appearance" tab. then click on "effects" check the box that says: Use the following method to smooth the edges of screen fonts (and make sure to choose "cleartype") You should notice the fonts are a little sharper as well as having a backdrop.

Severe gradient issues / problems with darker grays

So your sure when you go into the monitor settings, and color, it is set to like 9300k or something? It probably isn't the monitor, because the video games you said display just fine.
