Installed SW-221 now USB port shows Unknown Device - can't update driver
I installed the Linxcel USB 2.0 Sharing Switch, now my printer is not recognized by the computer. Device Manager shows the USB port as Unknown Device and no driver loaded. I attempt to load the printer driver but get a message that it can't be updated. I have uninstalled the the USB switch software and plugged the printer in direct, but am having the same problem.

Which USB port Damage because there are two USB port available.
One is Printer USB port or Sec is PC USB port.
If you are say PC USB port not working first you check it USB driver installed or not, or USB connect to motherboard or not. PC there are two side USB available one is front side and sec is back side. You connect only back side, because this USB connect to main board. So you connect only back side. If not working removed driver or installed driver.
Or if you are say printer USB then change cable or port or not solved only change option.

first remove all the USB Devices connected to the Computer, go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USB Drivers and restart the Computer. after the restart, the Operating System should reinstall the USB Drivers automatically as the USB Drivers are Operating System generic. If this does not work, go to Device Manager, right click on the USB Device having Yellow Exclamatory mark and click on Update Device/Driver and select search for the best driver in these location and in the location type C:\Windows\inf and click next. This should resolve the issue. If this does not work, you can try performing the System restore where the USB ports are working normally.
Try removing all ports from your laptop, then reboot, and then create just one USB port. Also, go to your hardware devices and make sure your usb ports don't have any question marks or yellow warning symbols. Be sure first that the drivers for your USB ports are installed and working first. This sounds either a faulty USB cord, which does happen, or USB drivers issues in your laptop. The printer is probably not the problem here.
