Make sure you air filters are clean then make sure your fans (indoor and outdoor) are running. If these are OK then you need to get your refrigerant charge checked.

Why does my sanyo model KHS2472 has a red light blinking in heat mode and a green in cooling mode, does not work in either mode makes a gurgling sound when it tries to run?

Hi,
The red light indicates it's either heating or in defrost mode
Check the outdoor unit if the compressor is running - the large pipe on the outdoor unit should be hot on heating or cool to touch on cooling
When in heating mode - the indoor fan will not start until the indoor coil is warm enough
If the reversing valve that changes from heating to cooling is faulty then you may encounter the same symptoms too
Probably need a Refrig Tech to have a look at it?
Good luck

My heat heat pump does not make the defrost cycle. The outdoor unit gets full of ice and that make jump the braker.

Sounds to me like the defrost board in the outdoor condensing unit has gone bad. To remove the ice build up until you can get a qualified service technician to replace it, you can run warm water over it to melt the ice, or turn your thermostat to cooling until the ice m. Running the system in cooling will warm the condenser coil, thus melting the ice.

Ice on coils of heat pump not cooling

Which coil?, indoor or out? Indoor coils freeze due to clogged filters, low freon, blower motor not working. Outdoor coil freezing could mean, in rare cases in cooling mode, reversing valve not shifting.

Air condition won't cool

mcdevito75 here YES IT DOES, I'm no expert but that ice is the problem, remove the cover and filter and let the ice melt, DO NOT REMOVE THE ICE YOURSELF, YOU CAN HURT THE UNIT, let the ice melt, then doulble chech the unit is not set to low in temperature about 60 degrees is plenty or mid way thru the blue sign on the dial, also clean the filter.

Just had the haier 4 ton 13 seer outside unit installed. my inside unit is a payne and still in good condition.had a 4 ton 10 seer outside unit previously. my problem is the unit froze up the first night...

Your problem is that your 13 seer outdoor unit is not compatible with your 10 seer indoor unit, even though the tonnage is the same. The metering device on 13 seer indoor units is different. Most 10 seer indoor units do not have an expansion valve. When you change from a 10 seer outdoor unit to a 13 seer outdoor unit, you must, at the very least, change the from a fixed-orfice metering device to an expansion valve.

Blowing warm air. Noticed that electric bill the month it stopped working was triple. I assume it was working hard to produce cool air

Yes, the compressor was working extra hard to try and keep the place cool. Freon must be escaping from somewhere. Hopefully, it is just from the schraeder valve stem. If evaporator is iced up, run it on fan to thaw out the ice before applying freon to unit .

Sanyo split high pressure side tube icing

ok, on these units, if by high side line you mean the small tube going from outside to inside, that tube is actually on the low side, the metering device is in the outdoor unit. If you shut the unit down, let everything thaw then restart and find that small tube is freezing up right at the outdoor unit right away, my guess is its low on charge. I see that you put some in, make sure it is the right knid of refrigerant. they do not hold alot. Where is your suction pressure running. If you put 2 to 3 pounds with no change, you may have overcharged but that is telling you that there is a restriction in the line inside the outdoor unit, probably the filter if it has one, or the metering device itself. Let me know what you find.

Uotside unit blowing cool air but hot on the inside

It sounds like you have a unit called a heat pump. When a heat pump unit is in cooling mode the outside unit blows hot air and the inside unit blows cold air. If the outside unit is blowing cold then the indoor unit is most likely blowing room temperature or warm air. It sounds like the thermostat could be controlling incorrectly or you could have a failed reversing valve which is the device that switches the unit from heating to cooling mode.
