Due to Adobe upgrade problems, I can't read this whole .pdf file, but it applies to your appliance, and has critical information for you. My guess is that a pressure control valve is bad on your range, and since it's leaking, this is a serious circumstance, requiring severe precautions. The .pdf file should contain information needed to keep you safe, while working on it, but it is my understanding that you could have legal issues if a licensed repair-person isn't hired, since it involved gas, so I always advise that, in these cases. Here's the .pdf file:

Here's some more information that might help, also:

Good luck, and be safe!

This situation can be very dangerous. You say you smell gas which means something is seriously wrong and the oven is not lighting as it should. I am very hesitant to give advice on this due to the potential for disaster. Call a professional and have this range looked at before someone gets seriously hurt or you burn your home down.

The Thermal Coupler may be bad would be my guess. The Thermal Coupler sits in the pilot light. If the pilot goes out or the TC is not touching the flame properly the TC shuts off the supply of gas to the stove. You might smell the gas as a slight amount of gas may escape. If the stove lights but then goes out, then it can be the orifice for the gas is partially clogged but that is highly unlikely. Like I said this can be very dangerous especially on an over where the gas is enclosed in a space. A build up of gas and then a spark can cause an explosion. The results can be disastrous so please seek professional help on this problem. I cannot advise you in stronger terms to not use this stove until this is fixed.

Oven not heating to desired temperature

You will have to place a amp meter over one ignitor wire and turn the oven on to bake.
If the amp draw is 3.3 amps or less, replace the ignitor.

Oven ingniter lights , smell gas but oven doesnt turn on

Hello- Ignitors may 'light' yet not reach proper resistance and temperature, causing improper gas flow past valve. If resistance is below 4 ohms, ignitor is bad. Part is 40-75$ at local app. parts store. Fairly easy to replace. Hope this helps. -Thanks- ED

Baking oven won't ignite, broiler element works,

Hi. This sounds like a weak igniter, the symptoms usually are: burner won't light, or takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Oven won't come on

check the ignitor for the oven even it is glowing it may not be pulling enough amps to call for gas this is a very common problem with maytag and amana ranges replace the ignitor and it should work fine

KitchenAid gas range superba not reaching/registering right temp.

Always preheat your oven and let it cycle at least 2 times. Your unit may show 350 but the manufactures know that it is not 350. When it registers preheated, it really means that it is at an acceptable temperature to start cooking. If you think that it may not be calibrated correctly, your owner's manual will have instructions on how to recalibrate your oven. You will be able to raise or lower the temperature by + 25 degrees or - 25 degrees. As far as the gas smell, you will from time to time smell a gas smell with a gas oven especially if you are right at it when it ignites. If you are smelling gas when it is not in use then you should be extremely concerned.

Burner flame shuts off during use and then you smell gas

all ovens, when they reach temperature they go off and on to kip the temperature, but if you smell gas the oven ignitor needs replacing, the ignitor gets red hot to ignite the burner ,but when ignitor does not get hot enough, it will have a delayed, that's the reason you smell gas.
