Question about AT&T 1855 Phone

1 Answer

At&t 1855 Display on phone no longer works... answering machine won't pick up.  It's like there is no power to it, but it's plugged in and the outlet is good.   Rings...but doesn't ring like it used to.

We took the phone off the wall...plugged it into a different outlet.  It worked.  Hung it back on the wall, replugged it in to the original outlet, and it still works.  Go figure.

How do I set the number of rings before the answering machine picks up on a Vtech CS6114 cordless handset?

The CS6114 isn't an answering machine. It won't pick up any calls on its own.

If you have an answering machine attached, refer to the documentation for that machine or else repost your question specifying the make and model of your answering machine.

If you subscribe to an answering service provided by your phone company, contact them for information and help.

My Radio Shack Digital Telphone Answering Device TAD-3829 worked well for a little over a year. However a few days ago I discovered that I cannot receive incoming calls anymore; on the callers side there...

These 3829's do that often. After about 1 year or so of use, something fails internally, resulting in the symptom you see. Sometimes you get "Er" on the display, or the machine simply won't pick up and answer the call.
Bottom line - this model's not very good. Ditch it.

Answering machine is not answering the phone calls. Have ringer set for 4 rings but the machine never picks up. was working fine until our power was off one day

If your phone rings normally and your can make and receive calls, the line is OK, please check if answering option is on, typically a botton marked ANS or similar with an indicator or a display showing that it's on.

Answering maching is not working

Look to see if you have even turned the answering machine on. Do this by pushing the answer on/off button until it says its on. If that does not work then look to see if the red zero for messages is lit up; if not then its bad power outlet your plugged into, or a bad power plug to your answering machine. If you have dropped the answering machine enough times to break it then don't bother with a repair and just plain see about replacing it with a new one.

I am getting a 922 service fuser error on my lexmark optra s 1855

922 Fuser Error message indicates that the fuser unit failed to reach the standby temperature. This usually requires a service call but try to turn off the printer for 30 seconds before turning it back on to give the engine board a chance to reset. Make sure the printer is plugged in straight to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge device or power strip as they can cause low amperage. If the problem continues or if the error appears every time the printer is powered on, you will probably need service on the machine.

Phone won't ring with incoming calls

I just bought a new Uniden DECT 6.0 phone and had a similar problem. It wouldn't ring when plugged into my Linksys voip router, but my old 5.8 GHz did ring. It would get a dialtone and make calls, but when called via an outside line, it would appear as if it was ringing. If I picked up during this "silent ring," it would answer and take the call. It wasn't a ringer volume issue. I called tech support, they said on the main headset, unplug the battery, then unplug power from the base, then unplug the phone cord from the base. Wait 15-30s. Plug the phone cord, then power, then reinstall the battery. Press the End button on the phone. Put the phone on the base for 15-30s. Pick up the phone. Press and hold the Find button on the base. Do this Find thing 3 times. Put the phone back on the base. Wait 10-15 minutes. Then try calling it to see if it rings. Worked for me, finally got it to ring before I decided to return it.

wow, no one has posted a response for this poor sap. I don't know what to do, but someone should at least post some insight!
Personally, I think it may be a power issue, as possibly the current going to the phone is not stable, so it is interfering with the machine's abilities to listen for someone else picking up on the other end.
