Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I just bought a new Samsung 943n monitor. The monitor randomly blacks out for a second, and then comes back on. The Sony monitor I had connected to this PC didn't do this. One other Samsung monitor in the company also does this. It's a 740n. Both PC's have the Samsung drivers installed, and they both use NVidia video cards. Any Ideas?

Did you try to use this monitor in another pc? if its doing the same thing, you probably have a defective monitor.

Monitor flickers black and comes back on...I am stumped...

userunnown,

Probably shouldn't have posted about the voltage thing. Power is checked with any wall outlet, and a multimeter set to AC Voltage. Or using a voltage tester. Pardon me if I overstep my bounds, but I do Not recommend you try this procedure. No matter WHAT, I wish you to be safe.

{Electrician? Minimum charge of 1 hour (Usually), even if it takes 4 minutes. May be additional charges also. In my area? Average is around $42 an hour. If we were 'talking' about the Low DC Voltages your Power Supply puts out, I would have no problem, (And have), advising you }

Now 'looking' at the total picture in front of us, it would seem the common 'denominator' is the SSD harddrive. Wouldn't you agree?

How to know? Try using a SATA harddrive.
(Feel foolish posting that to YOU, sheesh! )

The monitor you just bought died - hardware failure. Take it back to the one from which you bought it and either replace it or get your money back.

I bought a video card so I could hook up a second monitor. When I have the video card plugged in, neither monitor comes on, however in my original monitor I can see my mouse move but the page is black.

to have 2 monitors connected -your new card needs 2 connectors-and you have to disable the onboard one-be sure the correct driver is installed for the new card

No sound in sm2232bw monitor

CURSE YOU SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm done now. Some monitors require a separate power supply for their speakers. I don't know if yours would have one, so you'll have to check. Also, are you sure that you have it connected properly? It you do, are you sure that the monitor has built-in speakers? Once you have checked these things, get back to me.

Black Screen

Look in the back of the Gateway where you currently have the video cable connected. If there are two connectors, (Side by Side) there than disconnect & re-connect to the other. Your display should come up. Don't be fooled. Most Pc's that have no display on their monitor is not a monitor problem but a computer problem.
