Apevia Aqua problem

I installed this PSU and the switch will not stay in the off position. hWhen on, the computer powers up for 2 seconds then cuts off, this continues until disconnected.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks,

Keith

Reinstall the old power-supply (or borrow another power-supply) and try it. If the problem vanishes, then the newly-purchased power-supply is faulty, and should be replaced, under warranty.

Your reasoning about the switch mode power supply being damaged is probably right.
Bear in mind that this power supply may not be the only thing that may be damaged in your computer.
You won't know for sure until you borrow a power supply and install it into your computer to see if it will work again.

Here are some web sites that will help you install your power supply correctly. Power supplies provide power to the motherboard and other components of a computer and need to be hooked up correctly to the components in order to give power.

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to boot

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

Working fine until psu packed in, replaced psu, begins power up

The PSU dying may have destroyed the motherboard also. Try removing all interface cards and disconnecting all drives to make sure.

Comp not firing up

Something may be shorting out the board. Try taking the motherboard out and turning it on without the case. Just put the motherboard and power supply on a non-static surface. A box works well. Then use a flathead screw driver to temporary "jump" the 2 power switch pins for the front panel connection (as you wont be turning it on while inside the case).

If that doesnt work, then replace power supply. You could also take one out of another working computer just to test.
