Question about GE Monogram ZDI15C Automatic Icemaker
Hello. I have a GE Monogram ZD115 ice maker that was manufacturered in 2002. It was working fine and then all of a sudden one day it started working poorly. I have not found any obvious problem. It will run and operate but it makes ice very slowly. It seem to take a long time for the sheet of ice to form on the plate amd be released to the cutting grid. When it is released, it appears thinner than normal. The machine runs constantly, but will not fill up with ice. It can only manage to maintain a small amount in the ice bin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
All your problems appear to be caused by a leak in the circuit = it has caused the partial loss of the cooling fluid/freon so the freezer is struggling. The entire circuit must be checked, the leak identified and plugged, the circuit purged and refilled. This is a job for a pro, specialized equipment is required. Don't wait too long or the fluid will be completely lost and the compressor will burn running on empty.
