90 percent of 0xc0000135 error in XP is caused by .net framework. Either you have very old version of .net in your pc or you may not have it.

Finding whether your pc have .net framework or not, and what is the version is easy. Go to the website http://fxerror.com and download a small free tool which instantly show you which version is installed in your pc. Install the latest version (3.5) from microsoft download center.

How to install . NET framework: v4.0.30319

Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx and install that version of .NET.

When it is done installing, have Windows Update check for updates by typing "windows update" into the search box and pressing enter, and on the left side click "Check for updates".

This should take care of any errors.

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

You cannot install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 because the NET Framework 2 is already installed. The NET Framework 2 is the latest version of Microsoft NET Framework. I think you can remove the latest Framework in the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. Then restart your computer and install the old version. But my advice is, just let the latest NET Framework remain and don't uninstall it.
