Question about Zodiac Nature 2 Cra30 Replacement Cartridge

Can't adjust the chlorine output level of Zodiac LM3-15

I can't adjust the chlorine output level of my zodiac LM3-15 past 2-3 LED bars, and the check salt light stays on even though there is heaps of salt in the pool. So far the pool is staying clear, is it possible that my chlorinator cell may be faulty?

Nost often it just needs to be cleaned. Calcium build up can clean in a tub of 1 Part muratic acid to 5 parts warter. or a 2 to 1 soultion of vinigar and water, otherwise it could be faulty. Cleaning typically works.

I had this exact fault on my LM3. I put up with it for 1 year until the LM3 totally died. When I pulled it apart, a regulator IC LM317T was blown up. I replaced the LM317T, and immediately it started getting very hot. I measured the output pin and it was at 5 volts; it should be at 12 volts. I removed the display board, and the pin went to normal 12 volts. When I reconnected the display board I discovered a HEX-INVERTED IC was getting very hot. I unsoldered the IC, and soldered in a new CD4049 IC. This fixed the voltage rail, and fixed my original LED not going past 2 LEDs and salt LED constantly on problem.
I suspect your CD4049 IC is faulty. It is a $3 component from any electronics store, but needs a competent solder-er (someone who has soldered tranistors and integrated circuits before will have no problem) to do the job. I soldered in a 16-pin socket first, so that I can replace the IC again easily next time. (The socket costs an extra $2).

Zodiac lm3

The lm series chlorine generator has a tri-sensor inside the cell that measures flow, water temp, and salt level in pool. If the controller is indicating no flow after it has been cleaned properly, then the cell is most likely in need of replacement.

I have a Zodiac LM Chlorinator, just bought the house a month ago. Appeared to be working fine. Pool store said to add salt (although add salt light not on). We did not add any at that time. We had a short...

If the cell is clean check your flow switch. Take a water sample to your pool store to check your salt leavel again also have them check your stablizer or cynuraic acid it should be between 50-80 ppm to control the chloriene that you produce. If this runs to the top of the scale 99ppm at most Leslies stores have them dilute your sample by half and try again. If that runs to high it will stop the chloriene from working. Also always be sure your filter is clean.

DuoClear 20 can't get salt light to go out unless

I have a Duoclear 25 for 3 years now. The unit has been nothing but trouble. I too have a low salt light even when the pool is tested at 4500ppm. 4500ppm for our taste is too high. The main board has been replaced for erroneous errors and now one year later the salt cell generator is non functional. The quality is poor. Furthermore most pool stores don't even know how the nature 2 works and alwasy recommend chemicals that are harmful. The company Clearwater has poor customer service.

ZODIAC DUOCLEAR 25K DOESN'T FUCTIONING WELL

I have the zodiac duoclear system and have used it for nearly two years. All in all, it's a very good system. I have had similiar issues on occassion. Have you tried the master reset button on the lower right hand face of the control board? I've been able to clear up the lights by resetting the system.

If the salt content in the pool is not correct, the system will not allow you to superchlorinate. Your salt level should be at 4000 ppm. The add salt light is programmed to come on if the system gets below 3600 ppm. When the system is below 4000 ppm, it is unable to generate the chlorine needed. The lower the salt, the less you can chlorinate. Might not be your problem, but I've run into this before too.

The lights for replacing your cartridge puzzle me. I'm making an assumption that your pool is probably dirty if you're trying to superchlorinate. The dirtier the water, the faster the electrode in the cartridge will get covered in scale from the current and conversion process. Try cleaning the new cartridge by placing it in a bucket with a 75% water and 25% muratic acid mix. Let it soak for a few minutes and gently swirl it around in the mixture. This will clean the contacts in the cartridge.

Keys with the Duoclear system: Salt content and clean the filters regularly. Don't know if this will solve your problem or not, but good luck.
