Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Have a Intel(R) 82578v Gigabit Network Connection adapter it shows me that i does not have a valid ip configuration

Generally speaking HomeHubs have the IP address 192.158.1.254

In order to get onto the Hub your IP address must be something like 192.168.1.xxx wth a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

To check this go to Control Panel, Network & Sharing Centre and click on the connection you are using. When the status box comes up click on details you will be able to see your IP address, subnet mask, Gateway IP address, DHCP server address etc. If the results do not correspond with the details above, go back to the status box and click Properties, highlight Internet Protocol ver 4 and click on Properties. Here you can change the adaptor properties to correspond with those given at the start, or just click on the automatic options for IP and DNS server addresses.

Good Luck

My computer tells me that if my wireless adaptor was plugged into a different USB root hub it would work faster. How is this done?

Try plugging the wireless adapter into one of the usb slots on the back of the computer. If it still shows that message, I wouldn't worry. The difference in speed is negligible at best. hope this helps

Two devices stopped working after plugging them into a powered usb hub: a laser usb mouse and a wireless network adaptor. Both were working fine when plugged into a regular usb hub. Got the powered hub...

the two device wont have any issue. but i would suggest to connect the ext. hdd directly to the sys. and it requires more power, and hub does not provide that much power which is required for ext hdd. you can try to connect only the ext. hdd to hub and check.

How do I upgrade my evesham computer 512 ram card to 1GB. Serial no. WO00980373. Also what type of wireless adaptor is best. I have a BT Homehub V1.5

Just add an identical stick in the slot next to it then you have 2x512mb, find your motherboard model to see what type of ram it takes as WO00980373 brings upno answer it may be ddr or ddr2 ram and you must get the right speed eg 400mhz 533mhz.BT Home hub is fine ..if it works why replace.

Bt home hub setup download

Possible reason would be that BT normally 'lock' their hubs and modems etc so that you can only use them with the BT service. Need to contact BT and 'ask nicely' if they can unlock the hub for you (not 100% confident if they will) failing that you will need to either purchase equipment or use equipment your new supplier issued

Usb wireless adapter for Compaq Presario 5000

Most netgear adapters will work.
They're around £20 and will connect to pretty much everything =)
They work on windows, from 98 i think. So aslong as the old tower has a sort-of up to date OS then it'll connect for you :)

Hope it helps.

I have just signed up to bt braodband and got a bt home hub. As a result I have a spare BT voyager 54g wireless network modem. Can I use this to print wirelessly to my lexmark printer

You can't use wireless adapter to hook printer to wireless network. You need a wireless print server. Example is Linksys or DLink Wireless-G PrintServer.
