Question about NEC Versa FX Notebook

If you are hearing 3 beeps then you have a faulty or loose memory chip.
Turn the laptop off, remove the power cord and the battery. Turn the laptop upsidedown and look for a panel with a couple of philips screws. Unscrew these screws and access the RAM (memory) bay.
Unclip the memory and clean the brass contacts and the slots.
If there is more than 1 memory module put them back one at a time and try turn the laptop on to see if it boots.
If there is less or more than 3 beeps please let me know how many there are as the length and how many beeps gives us an indication of what the problem is.
Listen carefully at the beeps and try your best to describe them.
