I think you're referring to the drain stopper in your sink? They have to positions, one drop in so you can remove it easily to remove debris, or the other position it is engaged in the lever assembly that raises and lowers it. Loosen the nut on the drain line where the lever enters the drain (under the sink) retract the lever slightly, lower the plunger with the hole aligned to the lever. Re-insert the lever and test that it raises and lowers the plunger. Then try to lift the plunger. If you have engaged the lever into the plunger then it will not come out. Re-tighten the nut.

Water will not drain with lever in either up or down position

Assuming you have a lever operated tub stopper, with the lever mounted in the overflow plate, a common malady is the decay of the internal end of the lever, leaving the stopper at the bottom of its pathway preventing drainage.

remove the overflow plate and carefully slide the stopper assembly out of the overflow... you will know almost immediately if the assembly has come apart. if its intact, run a small diameter sewer snake down the open overflow to clear the tub's drain trap. if it has indeed come apart, remove the connecting rod and stopper from the overflow, you may have to fish for it some. Happy hunting....

reassembly is simply reversing the removal process once you have replaced any broken parts or cleared the trap.

The eco light is flashing constantly on my Dishlex Global 300 dishwasher, it is making a noise like a pump is running continously, but the unit will not operate. Can you give me some possible faults and...

Hi,

The symptoms on a Dishlex Global 300 dishwasher:
  • eco light is flashing constantly;
  • noise on pump running continuously;
  • but the unit will not operate.
Possible corrective actions include:
  • water level - pls check incoming water pressure, filter, water level sensor, water valve;
  • base/bottom overflow sensor - there is a float switch in the base of the machine inside a small plastic dish. Behind the kick panel, access through a metal lid/panel/cover secured by 2 small screws. Dry completely the area;
  • Air/dry/ventilate the unit/system for a couple of days;
  • reduce incoming water pressure.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Brewed coffee overflowed on to warmer plate. Now water does not heat and flow and warmer plate does not heat up.

Unless it is an expensive brewer, get a new one. The brewer needs the bottom plate to heat in order for it to work at all. Should be imune getting wet though, but sounds like bad heating element.

Overflow outside bathroom dripping how do Ifix it?

Just make sure that the over flow is tight with gasket in place. And all fitting's tight behind wall goin gto tub overflow. If it is check out out next step

1-This is a common issue that comes up. Make sure that the shower valve plate is sealed and tight to tub wall. Reason why I ask that is when you take a shower water will find a way out, down the plate or if tile at the point of where it meet's tub. And will look totally like it's the overflow every time.

What is the float height on a yamaha pw80

The float bowl level is set in between running it dry at full loaded throttle and fuel overflowing from overflow hose. The floats have a small brass tab that bears on the needle, when it rises, it pushes needle into seat and restricts fuel. Set this tab level with rest of tab plate surrounds for the middle fuel level position. Bending tab down will let more fuel in, up for less.
Better to put up with a little fuel overflow when you lay it down than starving motor of fuel when you need power the most. Damage can result running too lean.
Cheers.

You will have to change out the waste and overflow. This is not a hard job, unscrew drain from tub, remove overflow plate and disconnect from p-trap. Go to local home improvement store and buy a new waste and overflow kit, many to choose from. Reinstall .

How do i install a blower motor in my 1981 Corvette

1.First, if your car has Air Conditioning, loosen the compressor, and take the AC belt loose. Remove it from the AC compressor pulley.

2.Slide the AC compressor as far as it will go, towards the fender well.

3.The plastic Radiator Overflow tank has to be removed. Remove the overflow hose, and remove the bolts holding the tank to the inner fender well. It's a little tough to get to those bolts. I use a 1/4" drive ratchet, 6" and 10" quarter inch extensions, plus a flex adapter. Use either the 6" extension, or the 10" extension, where needed.

The plastic overflow tank is twisted a little, as you remove it. The shape makes it a little tough, but if you move it around, as you bring it out, you can gently twist it out of there. Use caution, as this is a plastic tank, and may be brittle due to age, plus heat from the engine compartment.

4.Now look at the firewall. This is the area under the windshield, and in the engine compartment. Facing the windshield, look to the upper left corner. You will see a motor attached to a plate. The plate has five corners on it.
Remove the electrical connections to it. Lay the small wire harnesses aside. Remove the machine head screws that attach the plate to the blower housing.

The plate is attached to the blower housing with a gasket seal. This is a Black rope like seal, and is very sticky! Due to age, and heat, the blower motor plate may be stuck to the blower housing, pretty well! You may have to use a putty knife to help loosen it.

The putty knife is eased under the edge of the blower motor plate, and is worked around the edge. You may want to wear some type of protective gloves, because if you slip, your fingers/hand could be jammed right against that blower motor plate edge. This edge can be a hazard to your hand, due to the force when your hand MAY strike it.
Safety above ALL else!
Also should your fingers/hand get up against the sticky Black seal, you will get sticky residue on your hands, or fingers. Kind of tough to remove.

Also I advise using finesse when using the putty knife. The blower motor housing, can be damaged by the edge of the putty knife.

Now it's just a matter of installing a new rope seal, or using some silicon of a tube, to form a gasket on the new blower motor plate. Observe how the old one is, and form yours accordingly.

Bolt the new blower motor in place, reattach the wire harnesses.
Put the Radiator Overflow tank back in. Reattach the Overflow Tube. Move the AC compressor back over so you can slip the AC belt back on. Put the correct tension on the belt, by using the 1/2" square hole in the AC compressors bracket, and pull the AC compressor towards the fender. I use a 1/2" breaker bar. The correct method, is to use a belt tensioner gauge, to test the tension of the AC belt.
