Question about Casablanca Fan 3245T Ceiling

1 Answer

I have installed my Casablanca Stealth (3245A) ceiling fan. The remote function works just fine with no issues, but the Inteli Touch W-32 wall control seems to not work. I have followed the wiring diagram for the wall control and when I turn the main power back on and press the power button on the wall control I can hear the fan turn on. To check if this I try the remote and still functions just fine. I hit any of the buttons on the wall control (Fan, Light, Reverse) the fan makes a buzzing sound. I have tried 3 Inteli Touch W-32 wall controls and all do the same thing. The switch is wired where 1 switch controls the lights and the other controls the fan. The old switch is a single operation switch. Any assistance to try and get the wall control working with my fan would be great.

What happens when you enter demonstration program?

If you haven't the demo program yet, you may run the demo using these steps:

-Turn off the unit for about 3 seconds.
-turn the power back on then quickly press the following button in exact sequence: FAN, LIGHT, FAN, LIGHT, FAN

A multi-tone signal will verify the test program and will operate/test the functions of your fan. Turn off the fan to stop the test.

Let me know the result. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I tried that and it didn't work. I just got off the line with the manufacture and even though their website shows that you can use either control the model I have does not work with the wall control. Thanks again for the help.

The two are not cross compatible. The fan with the 'A' uses the hand held control and the fan with the 'T' uses the W32 wall control. anyone who sells you the W32 for use on the 'A' Advantouch fan does not know he is doing. ((for additional info: The just coming out 'Z' series fan is a wall control fan that DOES have available their new W65 hand held unit that is compatible with the new 'Z' fan, but not the older model)) Sorry.

Replace the bulb. If you are going crazy while getting a new bulb turn off the breaker for the room. A serious design flaw, I would complain to Casablanca if you have the time.

I have a casablanca intellitouch ceiling fan and if you change a bulb while the unit is powered on you ruin the control board. The control boards are expensive but easily replaced by a diy-er. I think I have encountered this problem twice. These fans are very well made and in the past I decided it was worth repairing. However with the new fan technology out there it would be wise to shop around and weigh your options.

There are different parts that might became bad and cause your problem like relay contact, starting capacitor, running capacitor. However all these parts are included in one unit the PCB printed circuit board or electronic board? So you need to replace this parts in attached link is also called RMM.

We have here below a link with service manual for the fan at which on the bottom you will find the parts diagram and parts list. You should try to confirm the part code for your model with Casablanca service department before confirmation of order.

Also please note that you will need a little experience with electronics before proceeding with above operation.

How do you program a casablanca fan remote control to work for the fan?

Howdy,

Casablanca control systems are specific, for instance Inteli-Touch (4 button wall control with power fan light and reverse buttons) uses power line signals to a computer board inside the fan's motor housing and a remote control using RF will not work. However, you do not state what control you have, or what specific control you wish to attempt to use with the fan. Some will work some, will not.

Thanks and Reply so I can better help you!

I have a Casablanca Intelli touch ceiling fan. The remote is a simple toggle switch, turn in on, listen to the beeps, off an on quickly to set it. How do I reverse direction on this fan?

My fan operates the same way. To reverse it, turn it on a low speed. Then, turn it off and on, then off and on again, quickly. You should hear a series of beeps, and the blades will slow down and then reverse. You may have to play a bit with the timing of the off/on/off/on sequence to get it right but you should be able to get it fairly easily.
