Why won't my game gear run off batteries?

I recently got a gamegear at a garage sale for a good price of $1, but it won't run off batteries, which I got new out of a packet. Can anyone help?

I would check the battery contacts on the gamegear to make sure that no other batteries have leaked already. If it does look like batteries have leaked in the gamegear before you are going to have to clean it all up.
Have you tried to power the gamegear with an AC adapter? Usually you can pick up a universal adapter at Wal-mart for like $10 you just have to make sure it can do 9V.

I have a 1/2 hp crftsman 41A4315 garage door opener. I changed the gear and now it won't close all the way. It started going down and reverse back up

your chain is in the wrong position, unhook the chain and run the door opener so it is in the down position, then reattach the chain and make the adjustments as needed on the up and down screwes located on the side of the unit. good lick

Motor runs but door won't open. checked chain, seems to be ok

The problem is not the chain, it is the plastic gear in the unit of the liftmaster Garage Door 1/2 Hp.The plastic gear is not engaging, although it sounds like it is working.

You will have to replace it with a new one, then the liftmaster Garage Door 1/2 Hp will be able to open up once again.

Once you open and remove the old gear, Be sure to thread the screws in all the parts before you install them. Pre-threading them once would really help. Secondly, label the wires on the back of the opener before lowering it to the ladder, so you can put them back in their proper place.

Hope this was helpful.

I just purchased a John Deere Gator at a garage sale. I have charged it until the green light comes on the charger, buy it does not hold the charge for longer than 10 minutes. Do yo have any suggestions

These small batteries do not last very long. Your best bet is to buy a new one, depending on how much you use it it will last between a year and four years. Unfortunately these batteries are also expensive, they run from $70.00 to $110.00 depending where you buy them. I have had the best luck at WalMart they go for the best price and they are good about honoring warranties on their batteries.

Own a 2005 BMW M3, car battery draining -battery less than year.

From what you're saying here, I believe that you simply have a bad battery. Most batteries only last 5 years, much less if they're left to sit in storage periodically. You really should charge the battery overnight and do a load test on it the next day. The person(s) you spoke to at BMW were probably sales staff and not actual technicians. Costco has very good batteries at reasonable prices.

Sega Gamegear Wont turn on

I had the same exact problem. I took the back off, pressed on each of the capacitors. Carefully put the cartrige in with the back still off, plugged in the power and turned it one and presto, it started working!!!

Here's a picture of the capacitors and another solution if my easy fix doesn't work.

Dont know how to use the system

Sega Game Gears are notorious for having the battery compartments rust and break because of prolonged exposure to batteries. So check that. Then put in batteries and see if the light turns on. If all checks out. Put in a game. No video. Take the game out, put it back in a dozen times. That will strip down the contacts a little it to help make a good connection (works well on NES's too, well most systems with cartridges). Still nothing, try another game. Or clean all the contacts with some sort of alcohol. Like rubbing alcohol, or fingernail polish remover. I have a GameGear also and I went though what you are going through. What I told you to do made mine work. Good luck!
