Question about Yamaha POCKETRAK 2G Pocket Stereo Recorder

1 Answer

My computer shut down in the middle of transfering a file from my yamaha pocketrak 2G. Now there are no files showing up in in any of the recording folders and it says there isn't any recording time available for new files. I've tried deleting but there are no files to delete. So is there a way to reset the memory and start over?

For that you need to RESET the yamaha pocket trak 2g.
Scan computer with updated antivirus .Format your memory card of yamaha then try to transfer files again.
Remove all temp files from computer press windows key +R key so you can see run type in run "chkdsk /r" without "' then press ok then press "y" then restart computer then it will fiox and recover errors on harddrive then check.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

SD Card Write Speed Too Slow

Hey Jack! Certainly you've found a solution by now but maybe some poor soul is seeking the solution like I was.I had my Pockettrax CX saying "Memory Full" although I'd deleted everything. What helped finally: I formatted the SD. Now I've got all the memory back. Don't know if that would help the recording speed. but maybe. IMPORTANT: SAVE ANY FILES on your LAPTOP before formatting the SD.Here's how to format the SD:Go to Menu.Click on "Common Menu"Scroll down until you get to "Format"Press "Yes""Formatting SD" comes up and, Voila,You've got more space.

The screen of my C24 no longer lights up. Data is still visible on the screen and it still works when connected to the computer, but there is no back light.

You may have set the screen to the off position. It can be set by going to
-- menu
-- common menu (press record to activate)
(scroll down by pressing STOP) Backlight record to activate

You can set a lot of preferences in this area.

Try reformatting the yamaha 2G Pocketrak using the setting under Common. THe online manual mentions that if one uses the PCM setting for a lot of recording, it's a good idea to reformat more often.

Cant get mp3 files from my marantz pmd620 to play on my mac

Well, try copying them to a folder on your computer. Also, make sure that the files are not proteced with DRM. If these fail, open iTunes. Select all of the MP3 files and drag them into your library. That should fix it.

there u will find the recordings. on other way is u note down the name of ur ant recorded file.
connect ur phone to pc in file transfer mode and search the memory card and the phone by the same name that u noted down using windows search option. ull surely find them

and u'll need apple quicktime to play amr files.

Display says no files

Free up some memory for the system to work - the player requires 20 - 30 megs of memory to store info (ie indexes files). You are pushing the limit to the edge, if you want to add more music use the external memory card feature but don't exceed the song and folder limit for your firmware limit.
I have the RD2317 1G internal + 1G external - 500 songs; I thought to add a 2G but why; it would hit the song limit of 520.
Warning record feature does not work on cards over 512M consistently - crashes the player - most likely power consumption issue with external card.
