My 1997 kawasaki 400 pirarie will not show any sign of life when i turn the key like No lights to neatrul light nothing only thing that will work is my winch any suggestions?

Look for a fuse where the postive cable comes from the battery going to the starter relay - this fuse (like a 10 or 15 amp box fuse) allows all the electrical to basically go to the bike. When it blows - no ignition, but the bike will usually pull start. - Your winch is probably still working because usually - it's hooked up straight to your battery. if that's not it - let me know and I can help you troubleshoot it - all the best

There are 7 wires from the control unit. All wires are connected except the blue wire with yellow stripe and the bike is not sparking. Can you help please as there is no sign of where the wire should connect...

I don't know the actual colours of the wiring loom, however the diagram linked below shows all the electrical components. Whatever connection the blue/yellow wire has, look for the corresponding male or female connection.

Cheers.

My BMW k100 LT shows the abs warning light. Is this an electrical fault or mechanical? It has not been running for over a year

usually electrical fault, maybe because you use it very seldom... common problems of bikes with comp.box is electrical... this kind of bikes needs to be started regularly of much better use it regularly to avoid this kind of situation... better take it to the bmw shop, maybe they'll just reset it...

That sounds like a problem with the pickup coils. they are mounted to your timing plate, Check them for resistance with an ohm meter, they should be around 5k ohms, if one shows infinite you've found the problem.

I have just purchased a NOMA electrical timer with pins you remove or add for on/off time. Isn't Midnight the same as 12 am and 12 pm noon? What does the symbol that looks like a clock with the hands at...

I answer questions for free.
I specialize in timers and electrical devices.
My files don't show a timer that looks like you describe.

Midnight is 12AM
The rest of your question is a guess: the 3 o'clock symbol might mean 3 o'clock.
A photo of the timer or a model number would help me answer with certainty.

Add a comment and give the model number, so I can find a picture of the timer.
You can add a comment, and then add a photo of the timer to that comment using instructions below:

I just need to know the meaning of each symbol for my cobra xrs 9685

X band is usually some electrical signal not to worry.
K band is usually a radar sign or machine that tells you your speed. (Small town Sheriffs use this band also because they cant afford newer technology)
Ka
means K band America- If you see this symbol slow down and look around.
Ku means K band Europe- If you see this symbol slow down and look around

Fault with electric start on my Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit

Check that the clutch is in, kick stand up, and neutral light ablaze. Then try your start button. When you had it running and hit the button, the starter engaged at a slower speed then the bike engine was turning, which led to the stall. The stall means your starter works. If the starter works when the engine is running then it is wiring. Check your kick stand wiring along with the clutch wires which plug in on the handlle bar or where the clutch cable enters the engine.

Started and then died

the engine quit and the bike will not restart. No lights come on either. I believe I smelled a little burn odor just before the bike died. It was washed and dried yesterday but not started until this morning. Any ideas on what it might be?Sounds like some electrical troubleshooting is in order. Check all the fuses and connections for signs of frying if you smelled burning electrical components. Check your battery voltage and connections. and anything else you can see while poking around. This may involve touching parts of the bike that are not on the handlebars,
