Sorry no solution, this was always a pain on this units and a poor design on Rinnia part/generic problem. You need to find a Rinnai Service agent. Sorry, best help I can give is direct you to Rinnai.com.au, give the service number a ring and they can advise you on your nearest agent.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My 606a rinnai heater flashes 12

According to the Rinnai manual which is here:
https://www.rinnai.us/documentation/downloads/RC-606-48x05(00)_owners_manual_RCE-606TRAII_vent_free.pdf

It looks like that is a "flame failure". They suggest ventilating the room and turning the heater off and on again, I think this might mean the heater was eating all of the oxygen in your room.

Maybe cracking a window a small bit?

What does it mean when the power light (the small round light on the front of the heater that indicates the heater is on) is red instead of green?

was reading a rinnai pdf today about this, green means that the unit has power the red means the burner is operating so it just tells you when the gas is going basically, may not be the same for this rinnai model but is on the energy saver 556 so hopefully that explains your heater for you it should be in the owners manual if you have one as pdf i was reading was manual for another rinnai if you don't have a manual you can try downloading just type heater name and model into your google search with manual mentioned there too should bring up a pdf or a link to manual

I rent and have a Rinnai Energy saver 556F. I have it at 64 and the light blinks for 68. I would like to know why. It is 56 out side now thank you

Shadow,

The 68 you see is an error code. It means you have had an over heat situation. You should be able to clean the filter and fan area and restart. Turn the heater off and on again, that should reset everything and you should be good.

My Rinnai 606tr Silent Server continually shuts down and the number 12 appears on the display screen. What's up ?

I know that this is an old post but i had this same problem and i cant find a single answer to this problem anywhere on the net. Rinnai couldnt even give me an answer (let alone even call me back)

Well I figured it out. If you go onto Rinnai's website, you can download the manual, which has the codes and what they mean. Code 12 means Flame Failure. Still this didnt tell me enough. After taking the thing completely apart twice i finally figured out that the heater itself was perfectly fine.

The gas line was the problem. My gas line has a check valve on it right next to the heater. The check valve was not letting a consistent flow of gas to the heater because the heater was drawing too much gas at times, causing the check valve to start to close because it thought there was a leak (so to speak).

All i did was turn the gas valve behind the heater so that it was closed more (not letting as much gas flow through) so that it wouldnt trip the check valve. the heater now works fine and keeps a consistent temperature with no problems.

GAS WONT STAY GOING WHEN I LET START BUTTON GO ON RINNAI HEATER MODEL NO 82df

There should be a thermocouple (a small, thin copper rod) going through the pilot's flame. that may be coated with debris or has become defective. Gas utilities should only be serviced by licenced/trained technicians. there are a few safeties in place to protect the appliance and you.

Error 22 whats that?

The EE22 message means the stove quit with an EE2 three time in a row. In order to clear the EE22 you must unplug the unit for 20 minutes. Then you can try again. It sounds like you have the fuel problem figured out?
