turn it around and have a look in the back panel that opens, open all other covers and check that any of the small black sensor levers are not stuck down they shoul all spring back

J43 has a few solutions, one there are a few finger sensors under the toner cartridge , make sure there not broken. two is there a grinding noise because if there is , could be a fuser problem. three there are some small white cables at the back of the machine some people think there paper and try to pull at them. if there cut or damaged then theres a big problem.
good luck

if your blue knob keeps moving back every time you close the tray means you broke the knob.
how it could have been broken.
1-tray was not removed to insert paper
2-tray is constantly slamed shut

Open the paper tray & most likely the tab that holds the paper tight has gotten scooted back. Make sure the paper is up tight next to the front of the paper tray & push the tab to hold tight.
Ours does this ALL the time - poorly made. It scoots back a little each time you shut the paper tray.
