I have a mig welder that said it could use flux core wire.
Usually, .030 is what I use.

I am not sure if yours is this way, though.

I gave up on using the gas, because my canister was too small to make it practical.

I bought mine from Pace Member Warehouse which turned into a Sam's Club years later.

Good luck.

You need to buy single shielded flux cored wire the same size as the wire you have to fit your liner and thats it

You run it just like you would just with no gas the wire burns off flux that shields the arc

Can I use 0.030 Flux Core Wire in my Lincoln Electric SP170-T?

Use the .030 flux core wire with the amperage settings for .023 solid. If you cannot find .023 settings then just set low power first and play with it to see what works.

Very little power at wire

try to use bare .032 wire and co2 shielded gas, If the equipment does not have a gas solenoid you may have to wire a solenoid to the trigger mechanism to get the gas to flow while the wire is feeding. The bare wire usually copper coated burns much hotter than the flux core when there is a gas shield. Also a .032 bare wire with a gas shield burns a a lower amp range and will get better penetration.

You may have to experiment with the feed rate and gas flow to get the correct setting, but the bare wire has a lot less resistance to current flow than the flux core and will burn a lot hotter when you use a gas shield.

At 115 vac there is not a lot of amperage left to create an arc and run the feeder and the rest of the unit , and the flux core wire takes a lot of amperage to burn both the wire and the flux . .

Will a ya219b snap on by century mig welder weld flux core wire

Are you using knurled rollers? Check the wire. Is it reversed polarity. Flux cored wire is very voltage sensitive.

Same problem here...using proper gas, more heat (setting 4) should penetrate better, no? have lots of flow from blueshield 8 bottle. What gives?

Your machine is rated for less than 1/8" thick metal welding. The only way you can have a depper penetration is by using innershield wire instead of metal core one. Innershield wire does not require gas and it will melt at lower heat.

Have solar 110 2172 mig welder does this mig use gas can i use flux core wire also is owners manual available

Yiu can use both innershiel and solid core wire. All you need to do is inverse the polarity for the innershield wire (gasless wire) connect the gun to the ground and ground cable to positive side.

If it is a wire feed, yes. You just have to make sure what size and flux core or solid. Run flux core .035 4" spools. Or .030.
