Thank you. Kenmore 665.13823 dishwasher ran endlessly and couldn't stop wash cycle.

  • doublewood77 Jul 06, 2010

    Thanks macmarkus.

It would literally run until the cancel button was pressed. Also, we have not done any change of hot water supply, drainage or plumbing since the dishwasher (Kenmore 665.13823) was installed 3 years ago.

Hi, Can you open the door and look to the side for a white or silver in colour label and provide the complete model number, the number you've provided ( 13823 ) is only a partial model number. Thank you. macmarkus :)

    Hello again.

How long do you allow the unit to run before canceling the cycle, 2 hours, 3 hours or more ? Or if you do let it continue will it literally run until the cancel button is pressed ?

Has there been any significant changes to your installation, hot water supply, drainage or plumbing ?

    Hello again,

Based on what you've described I suspect you're having an issue with the heating element or the heating circuit. It can run for hours trying to heat the water, but if an open circuit exist's it will just run & run without being able to heat.

Are you able to answer another question ? Does the water appear hot after it's been running for a couple of hours, or luke warm or cold ?

Kenmore dishwasher blinking E2F2

Unlock your Kenmore dishwasher control panel by pressing and holding the "Heated Dry" button for four seconds.

Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.

Then you have to wait 2 minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.

Then press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel and stop any lights from blinking.

Dishwasher won't stop running

The controls have failed. The knob that you turn or the button that you push. They are not hard to replace but the parts are reletavely expensive and the labor always get you. My Kenmore did this and the part was half of what I paid for it when new. I replaced the dishwasher. See if you can find a retired handyman to at least look at it before you go get another one.
Sorry!

Can start dishwasher but gets stuck on same time and water does not fully drain, can you please advise what solution there is thanks

When you say gets stuck - does the dishwasher stop all together or keeps running endlessly with same time displayed on the display.

Can you try with another cycle like rinse only. Does it complete cycle and fully drain water?

If so, the diswasher heater could be packing up. If you use hot water connection then see if you can increase inlet water temperature and run the normal cycle again.

Loud noise starts as soon as water starts coming into dishwasher. Stops when water in or water draining. What could it be?

Hi,

This hammering is usually from restrictions in the water line or inside the valve on the machine itself.

Try taking the water line off of the machine(with the water supply turned off) then disconnect the line from the dishwasher and flush water into a bucket from this line until it runs clean. Reconnect, if it still makes the noise you will need to replace the inlet valve on the dishwasher. Let me know if this was helpful or if you have questions please.

Thank you

Dishwasher issues

You should always turn the hot water faucet at the kitchen sink first before starting dishwasher. If you don't your entire wash is cold water. This will also cause the water temp mode to take forever to heat the water to the 140 that is factory set. Hope this helps.

Kenmore Dishwasher 587.15163401 knob stuck mid-cycle

See if it is stuck on a water heat cycle. if the heater circuit or the thermostat is not working properly it will continue to run looking for a rise in temperature. If these are in working order the timer it self could be sticking and not advancing.
