Reset the ice maker back to making ice again

Turn the water supply off to the fridge, make sure the bailer wire (ice level bar) is in the down position. let the Ice maker run thru its cycle. When the cycle is complete the fingers that push out the cubes should all be down. Unplug the fridge for about 5 min. During this time turn the water supply back on. Plug the fridge back in and let it run thru a few cycles. This should reset the icemaker cycle. As a note: you should be able to hear the water turn on with a solid thump as the valve opens to fill the cube trays inside the icemaker.

If the ice maker is not filling with water after dropping the last harvest of ice cubes it will indicate a defective WR57X10091 Water Inlet Valve If you would like to try self diagnostics on your model click HERE and go to page 78, I will be here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

Ice maker wont make ice

Is water getting into the ice tray of maker? If not check for the water solenoid's proper operation. Is freezer temp at least 10 degrees or less? If not, the ice maker will not work. If ice in tray then perhaps the heater element is not working to melt it a tad ans allow the fingers to pudh the ice out and into the tray.

You can get those suckers for about 40 bucks new on ebay eBayeBay

Not producing ice. I've already checked the lines at the wall and the line that comes in at the freezer. They are not blocked. However, still not producing ice.

Check the following:

- The freezer temperature, it needs to be below 10 degrees F to cycle.

- If the freezer is cold enough lift the bail arm (wire on the right side of the ice maker in the freezer) until it clicks and stays up. Close the freezer and wait 20 minutes. Come back and lower the bail arm, watch the ice maker and you should see it cycle, you will notice the white 'fingers' rotating very slowly. Make sure the room is quiet, after the cycle runs for a bit, (minute or so) watch for the 'fingers' to be straight up in the 12 o'clock position, you should hear a buzz coming from behind the refrigerator for about 7 seconds. If you hear this sound then the ice maker is working and the temperature is ok. If you do not hear the buzz the most likely suspect is that the coil on the water valve in the back is bad, you will need your model number to find the right part.

easiest way to tell is pop off the white cover on the ice maker, you'll see letters on the ice maker,if you get a jumper wire and stick it into T and H the ice maker should start to spin, your jumping the motor out,if it doesn't the ice maker is bad, then put the jumper into the V and the L,this should fill the ice maker, you're sending power down to the valve by doing this,if you don't hear the valve buzzing or anything and no water comes right out to the ice maker the valve most likely is bad,if water doesn't fill the ice maker, you can fill it with water and after 2 hours it should produce ice in the bucket,if it does then you know it's the valve,if it doesn't drop ice the ice maker is bad.also if i were you i would change out the ice maker anyway even if the valve is bad,the mold in the ice maker usually rots out after 7 to 10 years, you'll see specks in the ice,you can look into the mold of the ice maker to see if it is bad, you'll see all the green liner peeling out and make sure you change out the water filter at least once a year, they want you to change it like every 6 months but depending on how much water you use most times you can get a year out of them.one more thing make sure there isn't any ice built up in the fill tube to the ice maker,if the valve is bad sometimes water will drip through and it will freeze up in the line,if so melt it out with hair dryer but by sticking the jumper into the V and L should let you know if it's frozen, water should come out when you jump it if it is the ice maker.these are the easiest ways to check it or just change out both parts.

Kenmore frig ice machine doesn't make cube ice

Normally, the ice "cubes" are crescent shaped. The most likely cause for "crushed" ice is that the ice maker isn't getting enough water on its refill cycle after ejecting the tray. Becuase there isn't enough water, the ice looks crushed...it's actually shattered.

Check the water inlet and chute to the ice maker. Sometimes they freeze and have to be manually defrosted. A hair dryer will do the trick. Also check the water chute and be sure it isn't partially frozen.

Start there...if no luck you could also have a failing water filter or sticky water solenoid valve.

Icemaker dont work after power outage

Make sure the ice bail wire is not lifted. If it is, the ice maker will not make ice.

The water valve may have failed to. It's in the bottom back of the refrigerator, and the water line normally connects near where the valve is.

Let me know what you find.

Ice maker continualy runs even when ice tray is full

theres aproblem here, I dontquestion that your hearing something operating, but if the valve is being activated, its going to fill with water( thats what it does!) so if your not geting water every few minutes something else is"buzzing"i would look elsewhere fro your problem doesnt sound like the valve

2003 whirlpool ice maker doesn't work

May be an issue with the cam that operates the ice maker. U can pick up a new ice maker for about 40 bucks on ebay.

Lots of things could be bogus. If the solenoid does not open, no water in tray - no ice. If tray does not get warm for fingers, fingers cannot push ice out - no ice. If freezer is not at least 10 degrees, no ice making at all. If cam motor for maker is bogus, anything could be out of whack.

Make sure that the ice maker is in "on" mode.
