I don't know if I need to download Adobe Reader. What is it for? I use my computer mainly for emails.

First, Download it if you don't already have it..

Click the install now, Follow the prompts with allow, yes, I agree, etc etc..

My only advice is that if it asks to install a google toolbar/etc. Uncheck the option.

The installation of adobe reader should be pretty straight forward.

You need to have a PDF reader installed if you don't already. You can use Adobe Reader from:

Or my favorite is Foxit Reader from:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/

But the error message you are getting, maybe it refers to FTP. For File Transfer Protocol, an easy to use program is FileZilla. You can get that here:

Hello, well, you need to install a pdf reader. pdf stands for Portable Document File and is provided free by the company called Adobe Acrobat. Just Google for 'pdf reader' and download and install that first. By the way, you don't 'run' a pdf file, you 'open' it. Maybe you already have Adobe Acrobat reader, but have never used it so your computer doesn't 'know' what to do with a pdf file. So, right-click on the pdf file that you downloaded, and select 'open with' and look to see if you have Adobe Acrobat as an option. Then try selecting it. copy and past this link and it should let you download a .pdf manual, you will need Adobe Reader to view it, just type Adobe Reader into google and go to Adobe's page and download and install the reader program.
