Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
Granting that the timer wiring is not messed up, check the drain while
the machine spins and rinses instead of washing. If there's water being
pumped out of the drain hose, then the machine is indeed rinsing and
spinning and there must be an issue with the wiring of the timer. But if
there's no water being pumped out and the machine washes/agitates at
the same time spins, then the issue is with the break and clutch
assembly. The brake shoes must hold the brake drum and prevent the basket from spinning. The brake shoes are released only when the motor turns in the other direction and the clutch tab push the brake cam driver and release the brake to allow the basket to spin.
