Hi the best best way to reset your password is to clear the CMOS settings. To clear the CMOS settings you have to open the laptop computer and remove the CMOS battery, wait 5 to 10 seconds and then put it back into the computer this will clear the password.
To open the computer you need to remove the screws form the back of the computer "try to mark the screws according to where you remove each screw. Then carefully remove the parts and keyboard according to how they are attach,be careful not to damage any parts they can be fragile and should be carefully handle.

I just want to reset my power on password, nothing is broken and I didn't forget the password, just want to change it

To change a bios password: enter the current password and select the appropriate enter bios key. When in the bios, navigate through the menus to find the "set boot password" option. This will normally prompt you for the old password then allow you to enter a new password. To remove the password press enter without typing a password.

To change a windows password, log in. Select start > control panel > user accounts
At this point, select the user you would like to change and select change the log in password.

Need power on password removal solution or backdoor solution for compaq nx9005

There is not backdoor for a bios password. The only difficult and last resort solution is to open the pc and strip down to the system battery. Some laptops have a jumper on the motherboard that you can erase the password. Most do not and you can short the battery which is soldered into place for ten seconds. Not for the faint of heart. Reassemble and cross your fingers. This takes at least one hour to complete. Not for a novice to try. It is easier to guess it.

Power-on password forgotten! How can the computer be started?

The Power on Password is set from the BIOS configuration. Ask that person who borrowed your Compaq for the password. Once you have this password, you can enter the BIOS configuration and remove/disable this password.
Depending how old you Compaq is, removing the BIOS battery and main battery for 15+ mins may remove this password and restore the BIOS to the factory default (insert both batteries again) and configure the BIOS Date and Time etc.
BUT if the the password is stored on an EEPROM chip then removing will not fix this problem. There are no backdoor passwords available.

Does a HP compaq nx9005 havw wireless built in.?

Hello, Ashley.

The HP Compaq NX9005 Business Notebook most certainly does have wireless capability.

There is a wireless on/off button, on the right-front of your notebook, just below the wireless LED.

Hope this helps.

Reset bios password

Most laptops do not have one and clearing the cmos will not help.

Contact HP, they have a master password that can get you in. You may have to fax them proof of ownership to get them to help. I had to do this on a laptop.

Hope this helps
