The front panel buttons are plugged into a control board that also has the IR sensor(for responding to remote control) . I believe this board has gone bad and that is the source of the problem. Board does not cost you much but the toughest part is finding a replacement.

Hello,

The problem is that the control board of the television is no longer working, probably it got damaged or it is experiencing some partial contact.

To fix this, all you have to do is to get the appropriate screwdrivers, open up the back of the television, locate the front control panel, get a replacement control board, and replace the control board.

Test the television with the remote and operate it manually by pressing the buttons on the control panel.

Ensure no other part of the television was tampered with, and see to it that the new control panel was properly connected.

The replacement is quite technical and i will advice you take it to an expert to replace for you, and if you are experienced in such technical field, good luck.

Take care

Take note, if it was having any kind of lock on it, once you press any button on the remote or the control panel, it will display an info box that the function is locked.

Moreover, you can only lock some features on the menu of the television and not the main control of the television.

It is a technical problem not a system reset problem.

    Take care

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To reset the TV turn it off and wait for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet and let the television remain without power for more then 1 minute. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. If the television is plugged into a power surge protector, remove it from there and plug it directly into the wall outlet. Turn on the television. If the issue is resolved, then the problem is with the power surge protector and not the television. If the issue is not resolved then this might have happened due to over-voltage. Please check the power supply unit for swollen/ bulged capacitors and burnt wires/components on the power supply board. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in off condition. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

The television doesn't have a surge protector. The television when plugged in after being uplugged comes on fine, with a picture, I just have no control by the front panel or remote. I believe that the set is locked somehow.

Is there a lock out feature on this set.

Samsung dryer not heating. My dryer is just a year old. It is a front load. It shows an icon which shows cooling and I can't get this to go away.

Just a guess. Try unplugging it for 30 minutes, then repower. If it's some kind of control board glitch, this may effect a reset. Otherwise I've no clue.

Samsung lcd tv can't find a source, buttons on remote control don't respond, nor buttons on the control panel on the right side of the TV device

consult the owner manual or call Samsung---this set likely has a lockout feature that locks both the remote and the keyboard out.

You might also want to research this by taking the model number and Google key words "remote lockout" etc.

Toshiba 32a14 does not respond to remote control

Hello
There is a infrared light sensor inside the TV which detects the infrared rays emitted from the remote control, when we press each button on the remote control. If this sensor has got damaged, the set won't respond to any remote control handset. The sensor can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. To access it, you have to open the TV. It is a three terminal component, will be soldered diretily to front panel circuit board, of with the main baord itslef. Will look somewhat brownish black in colour. There are so many types can be seen . Just look what type if fitted with your TV.

Blinking is a trouble code. Try unpluging for a longer time then hold power button in when pluging back in to try and reset.

TV is not responding to the remote control.

The set may have defaulted to a front panel lockout. To defeat that on the front of the set hold down the MENU button for 15 seconds and see if it will then power up. I know that doesn't solve the problem with the remote but one step atta time. These sets are prone to leaky switches on the control panel and when that happens the micro cannot accept two different commands at the same time. That could be why the remote is not working.

Tv wont respond because device menu is changing through each device

I had a similar problem: my WS-55511 would not respond to the remote and the front control buttons (with the exception of Power) cycled through the Device Menu. I solved this problem by disconnecting the front panel. Here's how to do it: 0. Unplug the TV
1. Remove the speaker grill from the front by pulling forward: there are no screws. 2. Disconnect the two cables that are exposed after the grill is removed. 3. Plug the TV back in, wait for 5 minutes to reset. 4. Try using the remote.  Hope this helps!

My remote is not responding to the tv even i have changed the new baterry

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;

Sounds like power supply switch needs to be changed to normal setting. If you are comfortable with electronics i will talk you through it if not you will need a tech or back to cosco it goes if you have a warranty.
