If your TV is making snapping or crackling electrical noises, I strongly advise you to unplug it and take it in for service or replace it. The power supplies in televisions bump voltages up into the 400-450+ range and they are no joke; they cause fires believe you me.

I hope that helps.

LED Indications

The front panel Status LED provides an indication of

the set's operation and the possible cause of a malfunction.

If an abnormal condition is indicated, perform the

Self Diagnostics procedure.

Self Diagnostics

To activate, press the front panel <ACTIVITY> &<CH

??> buttons at the same time and hold for 5 seconds.

The STATUS LED will then flash denoting a two digit

code.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the

MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2

second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the

(ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED

will flash two times, pause, and then flash three

times.

Table 2-2: LED Indications

Error Codes, descriiptions and the most likely cause of

the error are listed in Table 2-3.

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down." The LED

will probably be indicating an abnormal

condition. If the TV is switched Off, AC is

removed, or a System Reset is performed, the

code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

See the Error Code Log to retrieve a history of

errors.

Note: Use the front panel buttons, not the remote

control.

Note: If there is no response, the front panel may be

locked by a V-Chip setting. To unlock, press

and hold <ACTIVITY> on the front panel for

8 seconds.

Rear projection screen tv flashes power button but doesn't turn on

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Tv turns on for 5 seconds then switches itself off and the stand by light flashes

The tv is putting it's self into protection mode, this could be due to a simple component failure or possibly a faulty panel, Unless you are electrically experienced it would be best to have the TV checked by a service workshop. This model can have faulty caps in the power supply which is a straight forward fix but depends on your level of electrical skill.

Replaced lamp, power light flashes green for a few seconds the goes to a slow red flash. TV never comes on... help

Hello,

That simply indicates that it was not the lamp that was faulty, there is a bad capacitor on either on the power panel or on the main panel.

Assess the main panel and the power panel and you will find the faulty capacitor, replace it with a new one and the television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

Here's the basic troubleshooting:

  1. Make sure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
  2. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV.
  3. Press the SYSTEM RESET button and hold for 10 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  4. Press and hold POWER and MENU buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  5. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours.
  6. If it still shuts down, press the DEVICE and MENU buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold it for 5 seconds to activate the Error Code Operational Check. The status LED indicator will then flash denoting a two digit code.
  7. Count the number of flashes then pauses for about a half second then flashes again. The first number of flashes indicates the first digit of the error code and the second number of flashes indicates the second digit of the code. For example, if the error code is "35", the LED will flash 3 times, pauses, then flashes 5 times. The error code is repeated a total of 5 times.
Please let me know the code you got and I'll tell where the problem lies and how to fix it.
