most electrical units have a fuse inside, try taking cover off and checking for blown fuse,or,take it to radio repair shop.My Harmon Kardon stopped after 3 years, and the report said the unit that failed was quite a common problem for the modern multi channel amps, quite cheap to fix..All my tips are free

I was watching a movie on my denon avr-3808ci and all of a sudden it made a loud sound and it shut off. The power button was flashing red and wne I tried to turn it on, the power button would turn green...

probably one of your speakers has blown.. disconnect them all. turn the reciever on.
if this works turn it off connect one speaker and turn it on.. keep going until it goes red...
when you find the speaker discennect all the other speakers keep this one connected and confirm that it is this speaker giving issues.

if the amp doesn't come on with all speakers disconnected, remove the visual outs and start it with nothing connected. isolate the issue if this works. otherwise it might be your amp.

When i power up the reciever and watch tv the reciever turns off and the power button blinks red. I unpluged the reciever for 1 hour and put it back on. nothing changed. i even unpluged the speaker wires...

You have an internal short in your receiver could be power supply or most likely a output transister. There is a code to the blinking red light check your manual it may list the number of blinks with problem. However its not a simple fix. plus make sure HDMI cable is unplugged when reseting receiver if this cable has a short it may cause it to. Sorry to hear the bad news, nice receiver
GOOD LUCK....

Flickering video with Denon AVR 1910

I had the same issue with my Denon AVR-1908.....It turned out to be the cable box, not the receiver. I would suggest you unplug your cable box, remove and reseat the cable card,HDMI cables, and finally the cable line itself. Make sure the wires are not frayed or otherwise pinched.

Good luck....

How is the DVD, Areal lead, XBox etc connected when using a 1910?

every device should be connected via composite, component, hdmi to the receiver. then the output of the receiver goes to the tv. youll have to check the upconversion capabilities of the 1910 to see what to connect to the tv. im not yet familiar with that model

No audio running TV through Denon AVR 1910

I had the same problem. You're not doing anything wrong. the thing is you can't (I don't know why but the owner manual says it) have sound going to your tv AND your HT speakers when you're using HDMI. You should try going to input setup, choose hdmi audio out to your TV instead of the speakers, and then run an optical cable from your satellite to your receiver, assigning it to the TV/Cable input.

Internal problem with power supply or one of the channels. Bring it to a repair facility.

My received does not stay on for very long. i/e, I am in the middle of watching a movie or tv and the receiver will shut off by itself. is there a way to solve this problem?

You have a power supply problem as one of the +15v or -15v Regulators are bad. This is easy replaced at your local denon service shop.
