SOURCE: Remote control stopped working
Under the dome (where the electrical connections are) is the receiver unit for the fan. It could be that it is no longer working. Also the remote may have dip switches to change the frequency channel (sometimes located behind the batteries) check that these have not been changed or check they correspond to the receiver unit on the fan.

SOURCE: Receiver won't fit Model 52-CS
Turn the breaker off first.
You'll have to take the fan down and of course disconnect the wires. I run into this a lot. What I do is take a razor knife and cut carefully into the ceiling on the side of the box, Then connect the wires from the box to the remote module with wire nuts. I always wrap them in a couple turns of eletricians tape.
Then connect the long wires to the other end of the module and push it up through the slot I cut out and lay it flat on the top side of the ceiling.
When you put it back together the part that goes against the ceiling will cover the hole in the sheet rock. Pain in the rear, huh?

You need to change the receiver inside the fan. It is located in the top canopy of the fan. you don't have to buy a new remote just the receiver to save money and match the dip switches to the remote.
