Laser diodes are no like light bulbs. When a light bulb burns out, it goes black. When a laser diode burns out, it goes to an extreme low power state. You can see red at the source, but there is no beam to speak of. If this is what you're seeing, then contact Dewalt. They are low quality instruments, but will try there best to get you a new one, at a reasonable price.

What is the slope buttons used for

If you have the standard RL-H3C then there are 3 buttons. Starting from the left there is the "height alert" then "manual" then "Power".

Height alert is a function that after the laser levels and spins monitors the position of the laser. If the laser moves more then a tiny amount then the height alert function is tripped, and the laser flashes it's lights and stops spinning (or spins slowly) to let you know the base line position of the laser has changed. Pressing the height alert button twice shuts this mode off.
Manual mode means after the laser is leveled, it completely ignores the level vials. You can turn the laser any way you want to and it will always spin and not cause any errors.
Power is self explanatory.
If it's a RL-H3CS then it has two arrow buttons, that when in manual mode, allot one axis of the laser to be manually adjusted up and down to do a manual slope.

Lazermark won't self level

There are 2 leveling systems in the lasermark lasers. The original was belt driven. The belts are rubber O rings, and break down over time. take the bottom off the laser and you can replace broken belts. It's a simply yet elegant system.
The newer ones use leveling cams. A tear drop shaped wheel on a motor, that raises and lowers one end of an axis to tilt the laser. The problem is because they have a hook at one end, they put a magnet in the cam to tell the laser when to stop turning the cam. If however, it reaches the limit, and then gets bumped it'll get the leveling axis stuck in the hook of the cam, and because the magnet is there, it will never relevel. What you have to do is, disassemble the laser, unplug the leveling motors and pull the wires for the magnet sensor out of the stuck axis. then swap the sensor from the other sensor in (as it wont level without reading the sensor) and then turn the unit on. It should be able to level at that point. The put all the wires back where they go, and you're on your way.

My laser level wont come on

clean or scratch the contacts if you maybe sometime have had leaking batteries in the compart and inside and clean the white connector plug inside the laser (4 little black torx screws) where the red/black batterypower wire goes to and it is connected downside on the upperprint , becarefull with remounting the cap back for that wire is fully free that little contact must be carefully cleaned with contactspray spray it on something and a little drop is enough.

Its generally an easy laser to do a repair in Europe there are different spare parts for to get. I dont know if there can become different spere parts for this model.

I can't get my david white matrix 54 to shoot a beam in any direction. The lights on top just flasah.

This sounds like it is out of level. Self leveling lasers are only self leveling to a point. If they go past that they can not compensate and generally flash to let you know.

this unit does not have any replaceable parts, if the unis is covered by warranty, it would be exchange, if not then check with your local servicenter the max rate program to do so.
