The grinder only partially grinds. It makes a low-pitched sound as it grinds, but then leaves large chunks of coffee bean in the grind basket, resulting in weak coffee. We have already tried unsticking the rotating thing that the basket sits on when it had completely stopped grinding previously.

I have the same problem with the grinder. It makes an odd sound and leaves chunks in the grinder cup. I ran the grinder twice and it ground the remaining chunks. I'm not sure if it's the grinder blade or the motor which generates the grinder.

Grinder used to grind well, now leaving chunks in the grinder basket.

    How to fix this anyone?

The grinder blade got stuck and I was able to break it loose then the next day the grinder motor won't kick on to grind the beans. I also noticed that where the blade attaches to the shaft seems very worn. Does anybody know how to get this crazy grinder to kick on...I NEEEEED my coffee:)- ktn

I was having the same problem and thought the problem might be the blades in the bean basket. I purchased a new basket and it worked for a few weeks; however, the problem is back.

My grinder is making a terribly loud noise and is leaving chunks of beans also. The coffee unit is two years old.

Yes my machine makes a harsh noise when grinding.
Is it the motor? Can you replace it?

My grinder makes funny noises and it smells like something is burning. There are pieces of plastic left behind, and I am unable to remove the grinder w/o a knife to pry it.

While Cuisinart makes great home appliances, unfortunately they do not sell parts to anyone (no repair shops, not to individual customers) in order to fix what problems may occur with their products. The only way one can get a Cuisinart machine repaired is if they send the machine direct to the manufacturer where they have their own in house repair center.

Grinder on Cuisinart Grind and brew does not work anymore.

Have you ever heard of the saying: A penny on the rail will prevent a locomotive from starting, but a locomotive will run over the same penny at speed.
This is what I think you have here. A coffee bean is preventing the blades in the grinder from grinding. Just like a garbage disposal, turn the blades (UNPLUG THE MACHINE) backwards to free up the blocked or binding blade, then try again. Depending on the age of the unit and frequency of use, the grinder motor may have failed and needs replacement.
Good luck.

Can this be fixed??? my grinder stopped grinding ????

Try to remove all coffee beans first by hand, then s*ck all remaining with a vacum cleaner.
Undjust the grinder to more gross coffee.
Try to work back again the grinder. If it is working then adjust back again to your previus postion but remeber that you can go back again one step at the time so the grinded coffee wil not blocked the grinding plates.
Good luck

I have a grind and brew and can't get the grinding basket out to wash.

Open the reservoir lid. Remove the grinder basket lid by using the recessed area on each side of the lid. Then remove Grinder Basket. Open Filter Basket Door. Remove Filter Basket Cover, Filter Basket and Filter Basket holder. The grinder basket, grinder basket lid, filter basket and filter basket cover can be washed in warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts after every use.

I have a 12 cup cusinart grind & brew. The hopper is not working

You may have to clean the grinder....even more. That happened to me once. First I cleaned out the coffeemaker with the brush, and "dug" out more coffee, then I used this product which you can find on Amazon: "Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaner - Urnex 17-GRINDZ12-40." It's expensive, but it really worked well.

Condensation- Cuisinart coffeemaker DGB-300

The condensation is normal, not just with this Cuisinart Grind n Brew, but with ALL Cuisinart Grind n Brews - because of this, you will really need to clean it after every use if you want the grinder portion to last long. As far as the bean amt - Cuisinart bases it's reccomendations on a smaller-than-normal coffee cup size of 5 ozs or so. Plus, the condensation, as you mentioned, will prevent a certain portion of the grinds from flowing to the brew/filter basket. Add more beans or less water to make a stronger cup.
