Do you mean to say you cannot turn it on with the remote? If yest then let me know how many times the times it blinks in between each pause and I will tell you what the problem is. Before that please unplug it from the power outlet. Hold for about half an hour and plug it back in. See if resolves the problem. Other wise just let me know the no.of blinks so that we can continue with the diagnosis.
I do not have remote and stand by light keep brinking without spopping.
You are gonna need a remote to turn it on. You should get one and try turning it on before we assume that this is a problem with the tv.
Can I use universal remote?
Universal remote requires programming codes and stuff and may delay your diagnostics if there is a problem with it. Best bet would be to obtain a Original report from Sony. You can place an order by calling them at 1-239-768-7691. When you have the remote in hand and you still have the problem, let me know and I will be glad to see you through this.

Steady blinks definitely indicates a failure on the power supply board of the tv. Sometimes a component level repair is possible and we can give it a shot provided you have prior experience in handling electronic circuits. I can find you a service manual if you are interested or can find you a replacement board if you just wanna replace the whole board.
I replaced power supply board already. board # a-130-778-d. Please, send me service manual.
Here's tje service manual. Sorry I dont have it so I have linked you to that site. The one listed is the chinese version but only the tuner circuit will be different Power supply should be pretty much the same.

The link has a service manual for your set. Not free ofcourse but it should give us a proper direction. It can help us find out if the power supply board you have obtained is faulty or is it some other problem.

Hello,
To turn on your television without using the remote, all you ave to do is to press the channel button that is on the television.
The button is by the right side of the television, some of them carry their buttons by the middle of the lower part of the television.
Once you can press the channel button on the television., it will come up on its own.
All of these now tech televisions are built to start the tv on a standby mode in order to save it from power problems.
