Question about HP L1702 17" LCD Monitor
You should replace them as a set as I show in the pictures (all the one by the heat sink and the one by small blue caps, 6 total), those that did have domed top were checked bad because they have high ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance). If you use standard caps from Radio Shack they may not last since they are not low ESR type. I use PANASONIC FM or FC series from Digikey. You also need to check those 4 transistors by the small blue caps since when the DC filter caps went bad it can take out the transistors also. http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/HP%201702/?action=view¤t=DSCF2053.jpg
I hope he monitor does have bad lamp assemblies also.
